I'm disappointed in the resin as well. I'm not sure if the detail issues are because of the very hard resin they used or from how they sculpted their dragons--probably a bit of both.

I will say though, that because of the hardness of the resin and the attached base the dragons look to be very easy to assemble compared to other games' large pieces. Too bad they decided to make all their other minis a pain to assemble. This game will be known as "the handless game" due to all those wrist joints that won't stay glued with any decent amount of play.

...........well, a lack of detail in their models is partly because they never made it on the model to beign with ( in regard to the skin of the dragons. ) secondly due to the printing process not beign able to print the details that ARE part of the digital file ( I saw the prints for a few of the Drake modles in person when I visited the home of their printer ) and then thirdly, I am going to guess that they really did nto have much moldmaking and casting experience to work with when they decidede that in house production was the way they woudl go with this either.

The assembly problems are due to not knowing anything about miniature molding methods and needs goign in and then knowing even less about MAKING a mold that will cast well to boot.

I have been at this for a very long time and I have built quite a bit fo education on the methods and means of production and I would not even consider makign my own molds for a project this size. Hell I would not even consider making the molds for a project half this size. Making great models, models that are actually worth $8.00-$25.00 each demands real skill and real delivery.

I'm hoping once they get a little more established they might revisit their casting choices and maybe reach out to folks like Reaper or Valiant about making their models easier to assemble..  there's not enough emptiness in the Drak Rider's body for them to have needed it to be in so many pieces.. if nothing else, they could have made the drak resin and the rider metal..

Sorry to say that I think this and Tome of Horrors are both kapput.

I was the first backer for Drake 1 on both Kickstarter and Indiegogo. Disappointing, but then Drake is one of half a dozen Kickstarters run at about the same time, that have been disasters.

Vancouver is also one of the highest priced real estate markets in North America, if they were renting a space of any size, especially within the city, the lease would have been pretty high.

I didn't back this but I do hope it all works out and the backers get their minis. I'd hate to see a locally based project fail to deliver.
