This little diorama took about a month or so to paint and I enjoyed each moment. My son (5) chose the color scheme and this is the first time I've used the bendable trees. I'm really proud of it :) Enjoy! Excuse the shininess as it's been varnished.

Love it. Nice work. I really like the little scene you created, and the colour scheme works very well, whether a 5 or a 55 chose it. Your son has an eye for it.

One question as its hard to tell from the photo. Did you paint the trees at all or drybrush them?

WOOOO!!!! DWARVES!!!! Great work here Angela, your kid did a great job picking the color scheme and the painting is really well done. One thing I would have liked to have seen is some freehand woodgrain painted onto the tree trunks and branches, as of right now they lack the contrast and "oomph" that the rest of the scene has.

Thanks, everyone, for the kind words! For the trees, since it was the first time I've used them, drybrushing on them was far from my mind. I was lucky to get the flock to stick! LOL However, now that I'm a wee bit more comfortable with them, I'll definitely drybrush in the future.

Darsc: Thanks! He does have a very good eye and is very artistic. :D

Some may have seen it in the Facebook Group already, but I am working currently on a spelunking diorama that is a study in OSL. My first serious attempt at OSL it turned out to be a daunting and mindbending affair. I established the base colours and lighting via airbrush and then went back in with brush. Still a few things to fix, but it is getting there.

part one was opened in mid December, part 2 on Christmas morning.
I’ll build into a full diorama in January
Which I will then hide until next year

So I really had to share this because I'm super proud of it and had to show it off

It feels like an age since I last posted a terrain build, my last build journal (still unfinished) was actually in October of last year, so it has been a while!

Anyhow, my circumstances have changed and I have found myself with more free time to enjoy my hobby, and so this week I was able to sit down and start a new build, another photo backdrop, this time a cemetery (sorry no build journal this time, I just wanted to enjoy the project).  This one had been on my to do list for ever, the gravestones, coffin and the wall are all Reaper accessories.  I had a lot of fun with this one.

On another positive note, I've now got some time to go back and revisit my 'Post Apocalyptic Suburbia' build journal.  I'm sure  many people don't even remember it, but leaving it unfinished has really been bugging me, so hopefully that one will have a much overdue update by the weekend!
