I just bought one of the 3" Destroids for 15mm gaming. I also have a nice collection of the 1/200 scale Veritechs from the Macross Variable Fighter Collection (which is super cheap on HLJ right now)

Still gonna back this :headdesk:

Love HLJ! Not fond of HLJ shipping costs! Now I have to go look at their web page and drool. Thanks a lot Faceless King!

I use HLJ a lot, the shipping fees from Japan to the UK are a lot less than the US to the UK. Also prices of Japanese imported figures and kits have such a high markup over here that it's a lot cheaper to buy from Japan and pay the postage and import fees than it is to buy from a UK dealer. It makes me think that they are just buying retail prices.

For example one Megaman kit I bought that cost me £20 total I've seen being sold for £50. Some Gundam and Keroro kits that I've paid around £8 for I've seen for £25 to £30.

EMS, baby. I don't know how that shipping service does it, and I'm convinced it's magic, but when I was buying import games and other stuff I could get a package from Tokyo to my door for less money and less time than the same package from NY State to my mailbox.

Ninja magic.

China, too. When I was buying prepainted 1/72 warbirds. I can't understand how it's possible. How can the same thing that takes two weeks and costs $16+ from the US come to my door in five days from half a world away for under ten bucks?

How?

HOOOOWWWWWWW?

Plus with the International date line, it makes it seem even faster. My last order from HLJ many years ago arrived in Alaska before it left Japan. Ninja magic indeed.

Man, I shouldn't have looked. They've re-released a ton of cool Star Blazers/Yamato stuff since I last looked. Now the nostalgia bug is biting me in the butt and heading quickly for my wallet!
