Major heads up on the Quel Regult Recon Battlepod. There's a tiny rectangular piece that you have to attach to the side of the head. This piece has a very thin part that will snap unless you cut the whole chunk loose from the sprue and work it free very carefully. I've snapped two this morning and haven't managed to get it off the sprue without damage yet.

It still looks okay glued on without the broken part. But I didn't really see anyway to repair the part after it broke.

I wonder if they will ever fix the issues with some of the frames sometimes down the road. Not to mention they could with some adjustment make a few less parts. There was no need to make the legs be in 2 halves for the destroids.

Believe me, this was complained about endlessly when Palladium first shared photos of the prototypes. IIRC the final releases actually have less parts than the original prototypes, but they claimed there was no way to mold the legs for the Destroids in one piece. I put it down to pressure from HG to produce "accurate" models, rather than "practical" gaming miniatures, and a general ignorance of the injection molding industry on the part of Palladium.

I, unfortunately dropped from the KS, but a war gaming buddy (who is a miniatures/models pro) picked up the boxed set retail. I was there when he assembled, and believe me, he was not happy about the fiddly bits. I can't remember which mode on the Valk, but, I kid you not, the front third of the cockpit window is a separate piece. Absolutely no reason we could find.

But then, on one of them, the assembly diagram showed an arm (I think it was) as multi-part, but on the sprue it was one piece. A relief, but more confusion since it didn't match the diagram.

Yeah, I just gave up and left it out.

I actually just unloaded mine here locally. Sad part is the game looks fun and seems to reflect the cartoon but the minis are just too big a PITA for me to mess with. Baph you might check out Cool Stuff online (I think that's it) as they were selling sets at roughly 50% off retail.

Yep, thanks. Ordered from them just a bit ago!

*edit* Just FYI, re: coolstuffinc's sale. It took me a few minutes to realize, but except for the artillery add-ons that don't come in the core set, it's much more economical to buy multiple core sets than add-on packs. Should have known. Our group found X-Wing to work out the same way.

To be precise, the add-on packs to equal the core set? @ 50% off, $106. Core set @ 50% off, $50. And you get an extra rulebook, dice, tokens, etc.

I'm in for 3 core sets, 4 x phalanx and 4 x Zen artillery. I'm keeping 2 core sets, 2 phalanx and 2 Zen artillery. Giving the rest to my buddy in exchange for him assembling mine and then decaling after I paint.

Yep, that why I went in for the Showdown (2xcore set) in the Kickstarter.  I added up all the extras I was planning to buy, and realized a second core set gave them all to me, cheaper.    Same with the X-Wing core set, much cheaper than buying X-Wings and Tie Fighters individually.

I went with the double core through the KS, too. However, based on the force cards and my desire for a more flexible army list, I decided it was more economical to magnetize the Zent artillery weapons so I can swap them. The experimental upgrade and the heavy artillery worked well for this. The light artillery is a bit trickier because one part doesn't have a solid wall where the pod is supposed to attach. Going to have to use green stuff to fill that.

So my package had been showing as Expected Delivery 12/23 for a couple days, but the last update from FedEx was from Sunday and showed it in Tuscon AZ (I'm in Southern California). Around 4 p.m. Today the FedEx site changed it to "No Estimateded Delivery Date Available At This Time". Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, FedEx?!

I called, spoke to a rep, gave him my tracking number. His system showed the last scan as being on 12/20, still in FL! I told him how their own website showed 3 newer updates in different states coming this way. He logged onto fedex.com and could then see the newer updates (?!?!) but couldn't tell me any more than 'see if it arrives tonight, otherwise call back tomorrow'!

ARGH! I HATE, HATE, HATE UPS, but FedEx has always been golden with me, usually delivering earlier than the scheduled date. This is the first time FedEx has pulled a UPS on me (yes, that's a thing). I get it's the holidays. I get that your so busy you had to rent U-Haul trucks to cover deliveries (true story!), but don't lose my God-forsaken package! If it had contained X-Mas gifts for I was planning on giving out I'd be screaming at their reps right now...
