I think I might be a little bit younger than you, recruits. I was born in 1994. And yet, somehow, I'm old enough to vote.

I have a kid that age. Presumably older than you, January '94.

I have a daughter born jan 1995. Makes you feel old. Lol

Last year I was teaching karate to kids who weren't even born when I started studying it as an adult. That made me feel old I tell you.

I found at today that the parents of one of the kids I work with are only a few years older than me.

It's all a question of perspective. You stop noticing such details after the first 300 years or so. And besides, this whole universe is pretty young if you look at it right ;)

I like Ike!

1957

I did not watch Sesame Street. I watched Captain Kangaroo and Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood. Woody Woodpecker was my first favorite cartoon. The Lone Ranger was my favorite hero (and in many ways, still is). My first TV memory that wasn't a cartoon or western was watching President Kennedy's funeral train, which interrupted my cartoon watching. I got to see one half of an episode of the original airing of the first Star Trek series, and only because a party at my house distracted my parents before they realized it was past my bedtime; I don't recall which episode. I know we (my family) watched the moon landing, but I don't actually remember it.

I used to wonder where our flying cars are, then I see the drivers on the road today and thank the Great Maker that those yahoos are not flying over my head and house.

Oh yeah, this thread is about Facebook ramblings, not trucking down memory lane.

I use Facebook for a few things, occasionally getting suckered into one of their games but never paying real money; mostly I use it to keep in touch with my sister and her family 2000+ miles away. And sometimes I see posts about things happening with cousins and such. Our gaming group also has a special private channel for current game information. My store (Adventure Game Store) uses it to communicate with customers, and post pictures of new products and events.

four of my employees are within a year of my oldest child.

They are forbidden from calling me "Pops".

Listen, the fact that you have kids at all freaks me out. I feel like I time-travelled. Like I got up one day and somehow I was closing in on forty. Don't know how it happened. It's like Big, only I don't get to design toys or dance on a floor keyboard.

I have 3 of them, all boys. My oldest is 19, my youngest is 15. The guy in the middle... 17.

If you look at my avitar, it is older than anyone has posted. It was taken when I was 2. YOB 1950. I was in 8th grade when Kennedy was shot and at work when they were walking on the Moon. I worked in Kent across from the Campus in the summer of 1970 and watched the Guard patroling in Jeeps.

BTW if you look at the avitar you will notice it is a cowboy outfit. I GM a Western RPG at Cons. Over 60 years of Western play!
