Niddhogg the Wyrm

Here's the other Ral Partha Dragon that I painted many years ago. This one is called Niddhogg the Wyrm. I first mounted it on that round base but then I decided to dismantle it because the real stones I used were too heavy. I think it was also a little weird, making the whole thing looks more like a table centerpiece than a RPG monster. Anyway, I'm still looking for a good idea for a new base, maybe a jungle scene could be nice.

Your dragons are gorgeous! A jungle would be cool. With the stripes he reminds me of an iguana. Maybe something tree-like? He was basking in the sun, but some foolish adventurer woke him up? Or a mother guarding a nest? Regardless, I have dragon painting envy. Great work!

Like I mentioned, Niddhogg is no longer on this base, I'm still looking for a good idea for a new base. I like the idea of a tree, there was a tree on the original box cover.

The paintjob can also be improved, the stripes patturn was inspired from the box cover but I holy used two shades of green. The teeth are a little too pale and the mouth too red. I can't wait to get back on it.

Since he is the Nidhoggr why not have him gnawing at Yggdrasil?

I just red about Yggdrasil and I didn't realise Nigghogg or sould I say Níðhöggr is part of the Norse mythology. I didn't know about the Poetic Edda but now it makes sence and explain the big tree with three roots on the box cover. Thanks for the tip.
