Very cute! I had already ordered a con ticket with no intention of attending because I heard about the swag bags, but I am doubly glad now. I might need to pick up an extra online during the con, I think she'd make an excellent steampunk Zatanna minus the wings.

Very nice detail. I have to admit: I'm already thinking about something to do with that left hand. I might try to VERY carefully dremel and then file out the whip so she has two open hands. Like Suden, I'm considering leaving the wings. Maybe she could be some kind of voodoo summoner surrounded by little minions. Better yet, and power illusionist hiding in plain site as a carnival act. Hmmm... maybe I need more than one as well.

I still haven't painted the Sci-Fi Sophie I got from the Christmas promotion because I haven't decided what to do with her yet.

sigh. now I'm going to have to order a ticket, even if I can't go.

You don't have to order a ticket to get Sophie. She will be for sale in the online store during the convention. You have your opportunity to order her from Thursday through Sunday. Monday after the con will be to late.

But the Swagbag has also included a mouseling in it the past couple of years, plus other cool stuff. ::):

Plus all the cool kids will have them. That's why I bought one!

Thanks, folks! (And thanks to @ladystorm for starting the thread.)

I was enamored of Tim (Talin)'s art as soon as I saw it, so I called dibs on sculpting her, and ReaperRon decided to honor those dibs. :;): As @Qwyksilver noticed, it is the first Sophie that I've sculpted.

It should be easy to leave off the wings and fill the slots in her back. You might have to tilt her backward a little if you omit the wings, to get the balance right. Accounting for the wings, I posed her as leaning slightly forward.

I look forward to seeing everyone's painted renditions.

See you at ReaperCon --

Derek
