pocketcthulhu
So all of my parts for my Frankenmini have arrived... And I'm just now realizing How much trouble I have gotten myself into. the plan at this point is to sever both mini's at the waist and loose #2's torso and attach torso #1 to #2's legs and attach a new head to torso #1 and this is what I'm shooting for. pocketcthulhu
This was a bit scary as there's a lot of details in the shoulders and While I did some damage getting the head off it's nothing I can't fix. Tip cutters work great for getting 3/4 of the head off. Initial cut's placed, I plan on cutting under this plate and then Up to have it overhang the legs. Another scary moment, the helmet had a Tiny phoenix head between the wings, cutters again here also. pocketcthulhu
I was a bit busy last night /can't sleep must fix mini, kind of mindset. In one of the funner moments I have had when working with minis... So I had all my precuts setup to remove the torso from the good set of legs and I go to make the cut only to have the torso go flying across the living room and kitchen... I still haven't found it but I'm fairly sure It hit a cat from the surprised sound it made.

pocketcthulhu
I really lucked out and remember I have some chains lurking in my part's box, I plan on using these for the cord on his spear
Dadcubed
Have you got a bone saw? Really good for cutting through metal minis. Looks like most of your cutting is done now. Liking the look of Frakenpcmini! :)

pocketcthulhu
I found just lopping the gs on and filing it down worked much better for me and I'm relatively happy with this result.
pocketcthulhu
at this point this is the base coat and a some purple edge lining. I was Really starting to worry about my color plan at this point, it looked just so dull, I have since added highlights and it saved the day imo. I cannot begin to describe how much I had to cut off the back of the legs, from that lowest bag to most of the way down the right leg there was about a quarter inch of a banner/spear that had to come off and be trimmed down, ended up cutting it down as close as i could then covering it with Gs to hide the marks. Also I gave up on the idea of trying to make the cord on the spear, my chain's just wouldn't hold together. Dadcubed
He's turned out very unique! You'll have to play with some of the other putties too. Something like sculpey may be a bit harder but easier to file. I always find cutting and filing GS super tricky. Like the purple armour :)
ObsidianCrane
Before you lock him in I recommend brining the highlights up on the edges more and perhaps get some deeper (more black) lines at the joins. Especially on the armour. A darkening of the shadows with a bit of Mahogany Brown mixed with your leather colour would help with the leather as well. TLDR: More contrast (I hate saying that but its still true.) Oh I also note in looking at your source material that his armour is actually a blue based black with a brighter blue trim and details, which gives you a lot more to work with. :) Edited March 20, 2013 by ObsidianCrane
