Not cool. I feel for you guys -- I was one of the very lucky ones and the sad part is that I'm not ready to start painting any of them yet. This sort of pains me because I *really* want to start but I've committed to doing a little project first involving the assembling, customizing, and painting of a CF-18A Hornet for my father just recently retired. It's already started but I have to finish it still and I had originally hoped to get it done for Father's day.

On the flip side, you shouldn't have to pay any extra fees which is fantastic (based on my own experience).

Ah, so silence as in lack of shipping email. I understand now; thanks.

I think most of Canada and all of RoW are taking a deep breath right about now. But the box will come and when it does there will be much rejoicing.

Pretty much. Any news right now would be something.

Yeah, but you've got to balance that against the fact that all the updates Bryan has given us have been mistaken. With that kind of error rate, I can understand why he's waiting till he's sure what's going to happen before letting us know.

Doesn't make the waiting any easier mind you, and I disagree with the 'no news except for good news' approach, but it's understandable.

I don't know if it's just the bad mood I've been in, or what, but I'm starting to get a little pissed off by the situation. I'd probably be too depressed to paint them anyways, but at least I wouldn't have to get yanked around by UPS not being on top of things (or Reaper, or the government ffff).

Not really mad at Reaper... it's not really all their fault. I should just stop watching the forums or my emails and be pleasantly surprised when my grandma calls and says I have a box.

I went through a period like that. It lasted about a week. The "any day now" excitedness was replaced by a disgust of Bones in general, being that they were the source of constant letdowns. Now I feel indifferent towards their arrival, sure I paid for them 11 months ago, but it was a pre-order. I know Reaper is working hard, so whatever, I'll get them when I get them. This hasn't soured my feelings towards Reaper, but maybe I'll be wary to back another Reaper Kickstarter, we'll see.

Just go on like you never even heard of Kickstarter. Keep painting whatever else you have. If you're new to the hobby, buy a couple minis and the few paints you need for them. Before all this started, NOBODY every said "I'd like to start painting minis, but I need at least 240 minis before I start." Keep Calm and Carry On

I've been dealing by painting really old Grenadier miniatures -- thus escaping the present altogether. Helps keep me motivated. Also helps to avoid these forums.

Oh, wait ... damn.

Everybody hates Canada apparently (actually, me and an American friend say this all the time, about things like shipping, ect.)

@DLMyst & Carnacki:

I'm new to the hobby, so I don't have anything to paint. I'm actually not a huge fan of painting (like, on canvas, I actually hate it msot of the time) but maybe I'll enjoy painting the minis. We will see.

Anyways, I don't really want to spend any money right now. My cat is a newly diagnosed diabetic (great) and I need a new computer because I spilled water on mine a while ago (also great).

Sincerely sorry about your cat and your computer.

For me (not trying to offer advice to anybody else), it's important to acknowledge my own negative feelings -- having a bad day/week, but I also try pretty hard not to let that overwhelm me and find the positive. I certainly don't mean any offense to anyone else.

Cheers.

I will admit that shipping to Canada is generally a massive pain. Since we moved to the US we have been known to act as a delivery location for friends who can't get things delivered to Canada. Then they visit to collect their stuff, and we all win. ^_^

I can also relate to your frustration. I've totally been using these forums and following the delivery process as a distraction from the crappy things in life right now that I can't control. I'm hoping that the Canada/ROW issues get sorted out before my own Bones arrive, otherwise there will be guilt to deal with as well. Hang in there...

Not Canadian but in the ROW, I just don't understand how this all seems to be a problem at essentially last minute, the KS ended 11 months ago and suddenly logistics is a problem?? Surely it would have been one of the first things to sort.
