Oh, and the box was only held together by the black shipping straps. Some industrious soul at CBSA had opened her up or something.

As far as I know, they're all like that. Mine was that way, and a few other people reported the same thing. I imagine it's probably faster than taping each and every box, but I have no way of knowing.

My shipping box was held closed by the straps as well. Honestly, based on the stuff that was printed on the sides of my box and how it had a bunch of tape all over it, including on the open side, I'm thinking that Reaper is reusing old boxes. Not holding them at fault with that or anything, but it was an observation.

For what it's worth, my brown box had tape as well as the straps. Strong tape too. It bent my letter opener that I usually use to open packages and I had to switch to scissors. My white Kickstarter boxes didn't have any tape, though. (But that's not surprising considering they stuffed non-paint extras into the boxes.)

Gaahhh! I just discovered via Facebook that LittleBluberry received her order on the 3rd. I'm so insanely jealous of my lives-in-Washington-state friend and her family right now... :-/

What's even worse is that I could *really* use the distraction right now as I'm on a medically required period of "down time" after having to cut a vacation short in order to undergo emergency gallbladder surgery. *sigh*

I *did* offer to have you put my address as your shipping address... The offer still stands! ^_^

Sigh. I know, I know. In fact, I'm contacting Reaper right now to find out whether trying to switch to a US address today would cause more disruption and delay than simply waiting it out or not.

I too have a USPS P.O. Box that I use regularly. Nevertheless I plan to wait out the storm calm. I don't want to throw any monkey wrenches into the works at this point. I also don't know if my order was one of those already packed, processed, palletted, unpalletted, reprocessed and repalletted. I'm sure not going to make them tear down a pallet to get at my box.

Besides… I've got a craft room to finish that's going way more slowly than I'd like.

This is the reply I got to my inquiry about possibly switching to a US address via the Kickstarter message system:

All of the domestic and Canadian orders have been printed. It would be much better to wait at this point. We are hoping to be done with domestic by Monday and be able to go back to shipping the rest again.

So, I guess we'll all just have to sit back and be patient for just a little longer. (Patience is a virtue after all).

@Mortanius, maybe you have an evil mailman? We used to have this one guy that seemed to have "the worst luck" with parcels. You should keep an eye out if you can.

That being said, did they ever solve the re-shipping issue because I haven't heard any news of it since and am mildly paranoid that I've been overlooked?:S

Lol not just stuff in the mail. I could buy it from a store and it will look perfect till I open it then I find t problems with it.

I am just guessing my bones will not be in the 200 or so that made it through before the rest got sent back to Reaper.

One of Bob Ridolfi's sweet little undead monsters from earlier this summer.  I tried some grey skin tones to give her a "definitely not human" look, with the contrasting pale yellow funeral dress.  It's all right, and there's nothing you need to be concerned about here....

Got my Reaper Bones V goodies a bit ago, and slapped some paints onto the Pumkinhead beholder.  I used Citadel Wraithbone primer, contrast paints, and Army Painter Matte varnish and...  months later it remains slightly tacky.  It's not...  awful.  But it's enough that if I put it away in a box with other minis, I'm afraid it won't mix well.  I've left it out in the sun for a day, thinking that might 'bake' the stickiness out of it...  It did not.

I got Reaper Bones because I figured I could paint, varnish and throw into a box with all my prepainted minis.  Some of my older bones remain slightly tacky too.  But I figured that with this new round of Reaper Bones, they would have got that figured out.  I've painted up the undead giant, but not yet varnished him and I'm afraid to!

I've read the various Reaper Bones help threads, many of which are very old (and one sent me to Facebook, though it looks like it's no longer available.  I don't do social media anymore, so not sure?).

Does anyone have any advice to help a guy out?  I'm pretty sure I shook my rattlecan varnish adequately.  I do live in western San Francisco and wonder if the humidity (fog, it's often cool and misty regardless of the season) may affect this.  I try to wait until the weather is clear.

What are you doing to keep your Bones stickiness-free?  Any advice you might have would be helpful.

Update 3 Nov 21: over time the tackiness was getting worse; I could no longer pick up the model for fear of leaving a nasty finger print...  (In particular, the elements that had GW's "Nurgles Rot" technical paint for some reason reacted really badly, and were quite gooey!)  But I finally got a pot of Testors brush on Dullcoat/varnish and it worked like a charm.  The figure is no longer tacky.  If that changes, I'll come back to update again!  🙂

Hi all, just thought I'd share a couple images of my first Reaper mini painted up. It definitely seemed strange not priming something before getting started (typically print my own lately in resin, so have to prime those), but I wanted to try one of the Reaper products.

I am by no means a pro, but each mini seems to get a bit better - constructive criticism welcome - I know I need to get a better photo setup sometime - maybe when the basement reno is done 🙂

Next up is Boerogg Blackrime the Frost Giant...I love doing monsters so they're on-hand when needed for our D&D campaigns 🙂

It's that time of year for Orcs...but I already did that.  So it's time to get spooky instead!
