Great Canadian Mass Shipment Bones Race

coming up on 2 weeks since my label was created myself.

from what I've read so far it is looking like it's a matter of people who live in western Canada having to sit and wait for a bulk shipment to get processed or something.

Wonder if the shipping center for Western Canada is flooded or something?

Flood related damage was cleaned up weeks ago unless their facilities were in High River. Even then it doesn't take 4 weeks to sort out a temporary location.

Just contacted UPS. They suggested that Reaper contact them. If the label was created on the 11th, it should have been received by the 12th, and delivered shortly thereafter according to the rep I talked to. It doesn't take 12 days to drive to Canada.

Anyone with a twitter/facebook account that can access Reaper's other channels? I am a luddite and have neither.

Best thing to do is email them.

I emailed reaper this morning to ask about my bones, and i got a very quick response:

Here's the best I have for you. This is the second time we used the service. The first time was a drop to eastern to Canada. This took about a week to get across the border and into the local system, and another few days to get to your door. This time, the freight had to go to Ontario, then to a location in Alberta. I have no idea how long that was supposed to have taken. We were lead to believe that it wasn't going to take this long, and we're in the process of figuring out what's going on.

So my is guess us alberta folk are gonna get our stuff shipped next week.

Thanks for the update Bud.

Sounds like the Eastern stuff left the floor before the Western stuff, despite everyone getting their emails at the same time. The Eastern drop happened first, then the Western drop is underway now. I'm not sure why everyone didn't just get fired off in the same convoy, but whatever. Freight to Ontario should have taken about a week, as with the Eastern drop, and then the tracking labels should have activated. Since that hasn't happened, that means that the Western boxes have either not been on the road for a week yet (ie, they were only shipped late last week) or UPS got lost on its way to Toronto.

Fun fact: You don't need accounts with either Twitter or Facebook to read Reaper's info on those sites.

Twitter: www.twitter.com/reapermini

Facebook: www.facebook.com/reapermini

Both sites blocked at work. Also, I'm aware that I can read messages, I wanted to send one. :)

I just wanted to send out my sympathies to Western Canadians -- that sounds incredibly frustrating. If it is helpful (rather than annoying) my stuff was delivered in Montreal Wednesday July 17th at 5:40 pm. I had family visiting so I was only able to inventory this morning. One Cthulhu has two right wings and 09136 Walnut Brown looks like a dark wash but those are the only hiccups as far as I can tell. If anyone knows if there was a paint problem I'd be grateful.

Cheers.

EDIT: Turns out Walnut Brown is really dark, and apparently the best Reaper MSP color of all time. I'm excited!

How's this for a kick in the pants. www.starlitcitadel.com based here in Vancouver is fulyl stocked with all the bones kickstarter stuff. What a bunch of crap.

Never heard of them. They appear to be online only.

As Shogun mentioned, they may have gone to Reapercon, they may have had their pledge rewards sent to a US postal box in Blaine and brought it over the border themselves, they may have been one of the lucky few that made their way through the system despite being recalled by UPS for paperwork errors, or they may be listing stock they haven't received yet, in the expectation that they soon will.

In any case I don't see it as anything to get upset over.

Likely a ShipToBlaine thing. I've been trying to find a miniatures provider in Canada and I was about to ask how much Starlit charged for shipping, but noticed that their prices are a bloody rip off. They have some Bones listed for between $5 and $8 each. That's the same price as the pewters if you buy direct from Reaper! Reaper is charging $2.30 per Bones!

Maybe they're just gouging because Reaper doesn't have them up for sale yet, but still...at those prices you can just buy the pewters. Starlit is not getting any business from me.

I am guessing either it was shipped to the states, or they are advertising things they do not have in hand. They are, after all, advertising full Vampire sets (for $349. CAN) which says to me either they ordered a huge number of them and somehow managed to get them all, broke up a bunch and kept a bunch for sale, or they do not actually have them in hand

edit: they have them in hand, about 2 of each piece

I'm in the same boat as everyone else, it seems.

Edmonton order, still stuck in the UPS "label has been created" purgatory. As a side note, all of my friends in Nova Scotia got theirs last month (despite me telling them to pledge in the first place) resulting in a really awkward daily ritual where I get updates from all of the mini's getting painted by people while we sit on our hands.

Wish the communication was better...
