Wonder if the shipping center for Western Canada is flooded or something?

Flood related damage was cleaned up weeks ago unless their facilities were in High River. Even then it doesn't take 4 weeks to sort out a temporary location.

Looks like UPS has ten Calgary locations, but half are by the river and Calgary likely serves as the Port of Entry for much of Western Canada. So they were likely greatly backed-up. All the parcels going through half as many locations and delayed parcels that take priority. Plus any damage to trucks.

 

Still, a week is crazy long.

I'm in the same boat as everyone else, it seems.

 

Edmonton order, still stuck in the UPS "label has been created" purgatory. As a side note, all of my friends in Nova Scotia got theirs last month (despite me telling them to pledge in the first place) resulting in a really awkward daily ritual where I get updates from all of the mini's getting painted by people while we sit on our hands.

 

Wish the communication was better...

Yeah, I'm in the Park and I feel your pain. I keep checking and being disappointed. But at least it's not just me but everyone in the area.

 

However, it would be lovely if UPS would at least send out a form letter explaining the delay in delivery. Especially as there's "Request Status Update" button...

So i called UPS just to see what they had to say about it and the lady says that message always means one of two things. Either a) Reaper hasn't shipped it yet (which they have) or B) Its currently stuck in customs.

 

Least that pretty much confirms what i thought was going on.

pretty much everything I get shipped across the border reaches me with Yellow tape on it, I'm on a list or something.

 

Customs must have seen my name in the mix and said "We Must Check Every Single Box in this shippment"

I have another theory... UPS has gone and lost the pallet(s) for Western Canada, and won't own up to it.... Knowing my luck, that's likely the case...

Both seem like BS.

We know Reaper delivered, as the email is sent explicitly when UPS as received.

And given these orders are one of hundreds imported by a company with approved non-resident importer status I don't see customs holding it for weeks.

Canada, we can process to your 3 Easternmost provinces, but not to the West. It's a thing.

I'm not pleased but we need another form signed to ship to Calgary. I am not sure right now if we will return to Canadian shipments tomorrow as originally planned - with only 750 to go, I think we want to do them all and not do just Hal of those. Either way, when I'm done typing this, I'm breaking down pallets for reprocessing.

Maybe this extra paperwork was lost, takes longer to process, or maybe wasn't completed in the first place...

 

Or UPS is just being slow.

Is there any chance of some one from reaper clearing this up? I would think it would only take a phone call to find out where the packages are and why.. Then ks update to the backers?

Well, I have to come right out and say it, it has taken some soul searching, and I am now officially PISSED. I have no beef with Reaper or anyone there -- they have worked hard and unceasingly to get all of those Bones out, and I commend them for it.

 

No, my vehement hatred (not at all dissimilar to the multitude of levels of the Abyss) is reserved for UPS. No one can seem to get a straight answer from them as to the status or location of our shipments, and as there *are* no differing laws to import to different parts of the country their excuses are flimsy smokescreens at best. I for one will NEVER ship via UPS again in my LIFE, and if the only option to ship from an online purchase is from a retailer that uses UPS, I will not buy from them -- no matter how damn cool or cheap, or unique the item is.

 

I'm calling for a boycott of UPS. Who is with me?

So, just for the record, one of my friends in Coquitlam BC had received his bones a few weeks ago. However, I believe he was one of the 200 that "slipped through". As far as my shipment is concerned, still nothing.. I kind of hoped it would be this week, we've only overshot the delivery date by about a thousand years.. I would have preferred paying duty on $200 worth of models and not have waited the extra threeish months.

I'm down with that as I decided to never ship by UPS again after getting nailed for some disgusting brokerage fees. $200 package and $50 in brokerage fees. Plus tax.

But wasn't given a choice in this order. Was hopeful UPS would prove me wrong and provide excellent customer service. Nope.

Keep in mind that at this point it likely isn't UPS's fault.

 

The frieght truck that was bound for western Canada was probably not a UPS truck, or else those numbers would be in the system. Likely they are using a third party shipping company to get the orders to UPS's Western Canadian distrubution warehouse, just like when they freighted up the orders to eastern Canada.

I emailed reaper this morning to ask about my bones, and i got a very quick response:

 

 

Here's the best I have for you. This is the second time we used the service. The first time was a drop to eastern to Canada. This took about a week to get across the border and into the local system, and another few days to get to your door. This time, the freight had to go to Ontario, then to a location in Alberta. I have no idea how long that was supposed to have taken. We were lead to believe that it wasn't going to take this long, and we're in the process of figuring out what's going on.

So my is guess us alberta folk are gonna get our stuff shipped next week.

If one more person in the Kickstarter comments section who has their order tell those of us waiting to 'be patient' and to 'get over it' I'm going down to the local school and kicking small children. Yes it's easy to smile and tell everyone else to smile when you have your fracking items. Grrr!
