If one more person in the Kickstarter comments section who has their order tell those of us waiting to 'be patient' and to 'get over it' I'm going down to the local school and kicking small children. Yes it's easy to smile and tell everyone else to smile when you have your fracking items. Grrr! :grr:

I hear ya. With no one communicating, I have to just vent frustration into open space and pray that the Bones get here...eventually. It [email protected]#king sucks.

Shogun, i know how you feel -- I just had a *very delicate* day procedure today to a *very sensitive* portion of male anatomy that has me off work until Monday. I was really hoping to have some minis to paint...

D'aww you poor thing! Yes Shogun, make sure you have some time set aside to recover.

I had surgery last year to a similar sensitive place and was under the crush of a big deadline at the time. I thought I'd bounce-back and would be able to get back to work the day after the procedure, but it turned into a few days of laying on the couch in a haze of pain and painkillers and emails were piling up in my inbox from an anxious editor asking where I was up to.

This was the email I got from Reaper this morning

Thanks for your inquiry and we know nothing more than what you are seeing on UPS.com. We have contacted our UPS representative to look into this.

Our speculation is that it is stuck in customs and waiting for customs clearance, but we do not know that for a fact. Once it has cleared customs, then it will hit the UPS system and you will see movement of your package on the UPS.com tracking detail. The tracking number kicks in when the freight shipment crosses the border and the packages get checked into the UPS system.

In the past, we have seen a pallet of shipments take up to 30 days to clear customs and enter the UPS system.

Thanks!

Doesn't seem very helpful. Why would Western Canada customs take up to a month? I honestly think they have no idea what's happened.

Thanks for the update Paleblade.

<The following Rant is brought to you by pent-up frustration>

That's exactly what they said 2 days ago when Bud Race emailed them. How does it take two days to talk to UPS? (although, can't be too surprised here, Reaper can't even communicate with its customers, I bet they can't communicate with other companies either), Why doesn't UPS know where Reaper's pallets are? Why does none of this make sense?

I honestly think they have no idea what's happened.

Someone knows what's going on. They're not telling. It's frustrating as all hell being left out of their little private circle too. Either UPS buggered this and is covering their asses (How do you not know where your trucks are? Seriously.), or Reaper buggered something up and they're using "We dunno LOL" as a way to pass blame to UPS. We talk to UPS and they say "Talk to Reaper" and we talk to Reaper who says "Dunno, we have to talk to UPS". I know this game. I know it very well. It's what happens when stuff hits the fan, and fingers go flying everywhere. It's what happens when you have two groups who have zero professional responsibility. Rather than start being professional, everyone just decides to pass the blame around until everyone stops caring.

Reaper, for the love of all holy things, please update that you have no idea where our boxes are! At least that way we know you're not dead to the world. Then tell us what the response from UPS is so we know what's going on too! You're leaving a very crappy first impression for a LOT of people.

I've mentioned elsewhere previously that I suspected Canada Customs and lack of communication might be the problem here. From my dealings with various shipping companies, this sort of thing is not that unusual and yes, it sometimes takes several days or longer to resolve locations and statuses. I believe Reaper is being open and honest with us about their communications with UPS. The important thing here for UPS to follow up.

Customs can take as long as they want to 'inspect' something

inspecting might mean the container is parked in a customs yard for days or even weeks without being looked at,

or it might mean each and every package being opened and inspected in detail to see if this new import broker is telling the truth on their forms

they're not going to bother making stuff up about this (it doesn't do them any good, people will be annoyed with them anyway until their stuff arrives)

Your bones will arrive (and if my evil mischance the truck and contents have been eaten by a Wendigo or something similar Reaper would replace it anyway. The REALLY, REALLY do want it to get to you as if you like it you might buy more....)

Quoted for truth.

They would save themselves so much headache and individual inquiries if they would start owning up and being transparent about what is going on. It feels like Reaper can't be bothered to get on the line with UPS and complain until they find out what is going on (sometimes this is the only way of accomplishing things). If I had a single customer with this issue, let alone 1000, I would be on the phone with UPS constantly and be expressing my profound apologies to the customer and ensuring them that we will sort out the issue and it will be a priority.

What have we got from Reaper? Vagueness and dismissiveness, or as you said..."We dunno, lol".

The thing is this Customs story seems to contradict what had previously been told to us by Reaper (the fact that a truck was en route from Ontario to Alberta).

Sadly all of this nonchalant attitude and communication failure throughout the kickstarter will make me second guess purchasing / funding Reaper in the future.

I'm glad for those of you who have received your orders, but for some of us this has been a truly frustrating experience.

My understanding from what Reaper has said in the past is that UPS required the Canadian orders to be split in two, one for the East and one for the West, but that the entry point for both would be through Ontario. So yes, there would be a truck for the western provinces, and I suspect that truck is still stuck in Canada Customs in Ontario. I don't recall Reaper ever saying that the truck had passed through customs and was on the road within Canada.

I also don't see Reapers attitude as being nonchalant. UPS is their shipper. It's the shippers responsibility to be in contact with customs. But have you ever successfully contacted a government agency and had them respond by working through their processes any faster? Repeatedly phoning them throughout the day, even 24/7, is not going to speed things up. Everyone simply has to play the waiting game.

Welcome to real world bureaucracy and red tape. Please take a number, do not pass Go, do not collect your Bones.
