I just received my email from reaper and UPS tracking at 6pm.

 

What I am getting is

And mostly that's fine, but there needs to be a filter as well. If a post on a forum says something like the above, and then that gets posted somewhere else, and so on - then pretty soon "unconfirmed" becomes "I heard that..." and then people see this thing more and more, which makes it more real, and then one day Bryan logs in to check comments and finds out the whole thing's gone torches and pitchforks over something that didn't even happen.

 

Basically any speculation that suggests an issue with fulfillment, which has no corroborative evidence from an official Reaper source, is something we should all work to stamp out immediately before it has any chance to go wildfire and gum up the works. Other stuff is fine, but this particular form of rumor can cause a ton of trouble if already anxious people start going crazy with it.

Given that I've just seen my post linked to in the KS comments thread with people seeming to take it as gospel - OK, you've got a point. I'll leave it up but I'll stop speculating in public and if one of the mods feels strongly enough to take it down please feel free.

Reaper just doesn't want to make any promises that wind up not coming true. Outside of that, they've been pretty open about information.

Super excited to be getting these minis, they shall be the first minis I've ever gotten to paint. Would love some painting advice from anyone, or if you want to point me in the right direction for good youtube videos to watch to get a basic idea for painting I would really appreciate it.

I do not recall at any time posting 1,000 as finished. I can tell you that I have fulfilled several thousand rewards. I do not want to have a fulfillment tracker, because if I have a bad day, like Wednesday when we shipped 200 less than the days bookending it, I don't want people to panic and assume we're slowing down, having problems, or failed and died.

I think people would be very suprised! Remember this forum includes our most enthusiastic supporters - and are the ones most likely to have pledged big. This forum is not a representative sample.

Regarding Dakka - Martin's goal is to have the painted reward ready to ship at or near (a week or two, as it's only 5 models) the time distribution ships. Our "one painted mini" backers have time to choose, because we're pushing that date out. They are free to choose now, and Martin will start early. Remember - the e-mail itself was not quoted, and, frankly, even I don't know what Martin said to the guy.

PLEASE do not speculate. I just got asked to come over here and see what stirred up the hornet's nest. Remmeber, the internet considers as Truth anything that can be hyperlinked to another source. I'm not taking any posts down because unless it violates forum rules or degenerates into ugliness, I despise censoring our forums. I'd rather have your post up than remove it and have people assume we removed it out of spite or to hide "inconvenient facts". This is the internet, after all.

YES we are still receiving in trucks. We ordered tens of thousands of each model, and have received a few hundred, or a few thousand, or in some cases, all. I loathe to give specifics, as every time I do somebody jumps on the words as applicable to everything, so I'll give one very vague example. There's an item we have received only 80% of our order for. We have exactly (with +200 units) enough to fulfill, but not enough to ship to distributors, so I am anxious to get those in so we can package them. Are there products that we haven't done yet? YES. Vampires plus paints and a few (1-7) add ons can all fit into my smallest box, and we're working on those first. We have not added in C'thulus and kaladraxes etc. to our filters yet, because those boxes are the size of a vamp and change my calculations considerably. Giants and such also cannot fit inside the vamp box, so they're in the next wave of shipments. And no, I probably won't announce when I begin that wave, I'll probably just do it.

External factors delaying fulfillment: One - ReaperCon. Sorry, but it means approximately a 9 day stoppage. Two - Boxes. We don't have the physical space with all of the product in place to hold the boxes, so we place weekly orders. I do a good estimate of which box sizes we will need how many of, add 20% just to be sure, round that up to to the nearest hundred, and place a weekly order. if I run out of a given box (which I did once this week so far), I have to wait a few days to resume orders of that size.

Except for the parts I'm deliberately concealing to avoid rampant speculation, I try to be. I don;t like concealing things, but people take one fact and extrapolate it to 18,000 orders, and they don't have all of the facts, and things go crazy and then I'm getting yelled at and I start yelling back (yeah, I yell back. I may be customer service and everybody says that means I have to be professional but I'm just a dude with a mortgage and an ex wife and 3 teenage sons and car payments just like everybody else and I get mad, too) and it just gets ugly.

There are 16,475 Vampire pledges on the Bones Kickstarter.

 

Just looking at ordinary human behavior, I'm willing to bet that a good proportion of those have no more than a few add-ons.

and over 19,000 actual Vampire Boxes ordered as Vampire Sets. That's really only 3,000 extras. Include the people that got 3, 4, and even 5 vamps, it's still 14,000 single vamps, and *most* of those had 5 or less add ons. Just over 2,000 people got more than one vamp.

Too bad those add ons are Cthulu, Kaladrax, Nethrymaul, Giant Skeleton, Clockwork Dragon. Here's to being the last box out the door.

How do mini cases figure in? I see a lot of them going out, and I'm pretty sure they aren't smaller than giants or cthulu. Are they in their own box?
