I like your take on this piece and think it is very well done. My only critique would relate to the stone and the hooks; they have too strong of a resemblance. I might have tried shading the hooks more akin to the beak which I really like.

This looks fantastic!

It's too bad that they are an endangered species. It's hard to reproduce without any "stuff".

Don't get me wrong, I'm not looking for monster junk - it can be hidden by well placed fur or scales. It's just weird seeing a monster as smooth as a Ken doll.

... NOT that I check out the junk of Ken dolls...

... I think I'll shut up now...

Did I mention how great I thought the paint job was?

Thanks all.

@ Adrift: A fair observation. For my part, I was concerned that the contrast between the skin-color and the grey used on the base would be insufficient.

@ MiniCannuck: Ah yes, monster junk... Hmm... I'm sure I had something insightful to add when I started typing this but at the moment I can't imagine what that was.

That's a really awesome job and has me off to check the old Monster Manual. I had always pictured those suckers different, but yours is now what I'll always picture in my head when I think of the ole hooky horror. Fantastic work.

Hey hey, this guy is not representative of his species, he just had an unfortunate scratching accident in his youth.
