jdizzy001
Is their a place that has helped you improve your craft? I want to try my hand at sculpting and need a place to start. I have already looked at ebob's stuff and that was helpful, but what else is out there?
Rocketpropelledgames
One of the tips that helped me out the most is to realize the sculpting is just as much an art as it is a science. You use various tools to indent and manipulate your sculpting material, with usually 100 % repeatable results.(i.e. if you press a pick into the material you will almost always get the same results. The art side comes in by determining how many and what type of these indentations to use to get the results your looking for.
Pragma
I posted a big list in this thread: http://www.reapermini.com/forum/index.php?/topic/46320-learning-to-sculpt;-any-good-tutorials/?p=648308 . They are ranked roughly in order of usefulness/beginner-friendliness. I would start with the Storm the Castle tutorials. You won't get any advanced techniques but it's very visual and step-by-step. evhorne969
I would second the miniature mentor videos. The other sculpting videos on there are excellent as well. A very good resource for sculpting miniatures is the 1listsculpting group on yahoo groups. Sign up with them and check out the FAQ. And if you REALLY want to get down and dirty, the best kept secret in the miniature sculpting industry (come to Reapercon, take some sculpting classes and learn how to sculpt directly from the pros... ) Happy Sculpting~ Gene

Pragma
Of course the best resource I have found is these forums; post your progress no matter how primitive and you will find lots of encouragement and useful advice. You might even get a personalized tutorial from a professional sculptor.
