Dr.Bedlam
Everyone calls me "Doc" or "Doctor Bedlam." It's easier to remember and more interesting than my right name. I don't mind. For the life of me, I can't remember Inarah's real name, but she utterly made my evening by bringing me 1979 all over again. To the talented and lovely Inarah, my kindest words and my sincere gratitude. I hope in some small way I have helped improve YOUR convention experience, too.Although Briathel grows weary of my gleeful Ferengi-like gloating laughter....
MonkeySloth
Lots of fun painting today, meeting new friends and trying out CAV. About to sit down and get dinner with Shakandara, npreecs, stubdog, chaosscorpion, Sanael, Nissiana, and two others not on the forums! Going to dinner with Shaka, Stubdog and Chaosscorpion is definitely worth the cost to go down to Denton.
dispatchdave
Listen, I'm halfway to booking an immediate overnight flight on my credit card just at the mention of the magic words Pro Paint. *shows up* *buys paints* "Can't stay! Nice looking at your faces!" *goes to airport* Best $3,000 ever spent. Patience. Shipping is cheaper.Would you stop playing withy Stinky and post a picture of what you bought me? I just spent 7 hours driving home from Lexington, KY. And let me know how much I owe you (so far...) ETA: you know I'm joking? But you can post anyway... What? I've been worried about me today, son! I've got your list ready, along with the info to get your Vamp + Etc, and the order you placed w/ ticket et al. I'll grab what I can tomorrow (and visit the Boneyard some more). As for the drive, I feel your pain, only doubly so ;) Well, to be fair, my wife feels your pain doubly so. She was a champ and drove most of the way since I was (conveniently...) down with allergies and chest congestion the day of the drive. -DD
chaosscorpion
I hope you're all having fun. I am curious. Do the minis on display have magnifying glasses so you can see the details better? Not sure but they are going up live on to big screens on the walls of the main room!

Hibou
I am definitely going next year. I went to Warhammer World in Nottingham, England on my vacation this year. I would totally like to see how Reaper HG stands up against GW HQ. GW HQ is more or less a gamestore with a museum and the best gaming area ever. But you never get to see how things are made. Reapercon sounds like its very different. Edited April 19, 2013 by Hibou

You can get tours of the production process though. I got to see the new injection molding machine in operation yesterday. It was inspirational.

Adrift
After my final post last night, got a knock on the door from Shakandara and an invitation to play Cards Against Humanity with him, his daughter, cutebutpsycho and her husband! It was hysterical.

The disappointing thing about Warhammer World is that you you are never allowed to tour the factory. I love factory tours. I love finding out the process of things. So does my brother. He watches How Its Made constantly and is totally excited about seeing where our miniatures get made. Expect to see the two of us there next year provided the dates do not clash with any prior obligations.
Nocturne
Years ago GW took a spincasting machine along to GamesDay in Birmingham UK and were manufacturing/packaging the GamesDay miniatures there and then, it was the Ork back when they had the short-lived game about Ork tribes fighting one another, the name of which escapes me right now. It was quite interesting to see.
DrSmackMatters
Well I guess after reading all this I am going to have to stop lurking in the forums and go to Reapercon next year. I just started painting again so hopefully by then I won't truly suck at it like I feel I do now.

It was cool, but I agree I would have really loved to have seen the guts of the place. They do have Open Days, where you can see the design facilities and meet with staff, but you've got to buy tickets at a fairly stiff price. I'm thinking I'll have to devise a reason to haul the family down Texas-way, this time next year... That should give me some time to brush up on my painting skills.
