Mikatu
Two things - One, I'm amazed at the patience and support the backers of this KS have. Most other KS would be receiving death threats about now. Two, this isn't too surprising. They mentioned not having everything in hand before shipping even started. LOL!! This should not be an issue if it was stamped "Made in the USA" lol! Cassu
Here's my question - the update says, "Now we're waiting on shipment two from China. These containers include many of the larger add-ons." Many. Shipment Two. I just worry that we will see the next shipment come in, get sent out, and then play the waiting game while shipment three heads over. We don't know how many orders are left to fulfill, or indeed how many shipments there are remaining. Not that this information would ultimately change anything, but it would still be nice to have. I am a little concerned about this too, as a backer who is getting a vampire + one of pretty much everything, including the big stuff I'm worried that I shouldn't be expecting my order to be fulfilled even when shipment 2 arrives. I guess more than anything right now I'd like a very, very rough guesstimate of when I should be relieving my items. If I know now that I shouldn't expect anything out of shipment 2, I won't be so concerned when I don't receive my confirmation email with-in the next month. I will happily be patient and I'm very happy with Reaper, just more info would be nice. In the mean time, I'm off to Facebook to move the date of my big Bones painting day with my D&D group back another month at least.

Communication isn't ever a bad thing, even if it's bad news. I do want to thank the Reap peeps for putting in the extra effort to clear duty for us Canucks. I'm very new to the mini hobby, but I want to let you know that you've gained a customer as a result of your actions. I have regrets about not completing my Bones order with the Kickstarter, but if this is the way you treat folks, then count me in for two of everything next time you Kick Off. No mention was made that they didn't already have everything and that they were still waiting on shipments from China. Most of us thought ours could be shipped at any moment. Now we have some more info, but it really raises more questions than answers. ie. How many is "many" I feel it's safe to assume it's more than 2 and likely more than 3... Given that we already are having time issues with the 2nd shipment, who's to say that the rest of "many" will likely be any different. I'm not sure it is a huge stretch to think that Customs and Chinese Factories might not have the same commitment to this KS as Reaper themselves do. For instance the Bones shipment that was in customs for how long before The 12 Days of Reaper. At least now we have some more knowledge and every bit helps. We aren't a crazed mob, I think most of us would be more understanding the more we are kept in the loop.

Which tells me that other orders could simply not be fulfilled, which is fine. Reaper IS doing everything they humanly can to get this process to go as fast as possible. But here's how I prefer to see it: simply knowing that they don't have the containers with the non-vampire add-ons yet, and therefore that I can not possibly get a shipping notice, provides me with a peace of mind I am indescribably grateful for. I think even a wild guess as to when something will ship may be dangerous. Even if you are prepared to accept it as only an estimate, there is no telling who may take it as a promise, even with appropriate disclaimers. One thing they might be able to do as a substitution would be to announce which fulfillment options are still awaiting shipment from China. If you know that, you at least know your order won't be sent until the next batch arrives at the warehouse. My pledge also included nearly all the options, so I'm right there with you. I'm just trying to maintain my "wait and see" stance. Edited May 7, 2013 by klarg1

I know it's hard to judge what is best, especially when you have to many backers eager for their orders. But I think even a tad more information would help.
eriochrome
If this second wave contains even 75% of the optional mini types then I am probably still going to be waiting a while. I got 11 different options which if the selection was random would give me only about a 2.5% chance of getting my order in a 75% wave. Hopefully it is not random but I still doubt I am in the "minis" with this spin of the wheel.
gmpathfinder
Some people were able to pick up their vampires at the con right? So there's already a system for tracking split shipments. If reaper offered to let me pay for the separate shipment of my vampire (thus giving a premium service for the bulk of my order, and saving a bit on the free shipping of the add-ons which will come later when they arrive) I would consider ponying up more cash. To me that wouldn't be asking for more money, but instead offering expedited shipping. /Just a thought /Flame shield activated

Realistically speaking.. we could be talking a couple more months until Reaper gets all the shipments in (there's no mention of if the 3rd one will be the last or not). I would be willing to pay shipping costs to secure my Vampire pledge now, especially since I've seen so many others with theirs I'm really itching for it. Without knowing what is on this 2nd shipment and what isn't (I have a gut feeling that it wont be including the biggest models-Neth, Kala, Cthulu) it's hard to say how much value you'd be getting for your extra cost, but I would say at least 10-15% of people would be interested in this. buglips*the*goblin
I don't know, possibly that might be a solution. For my part I'm not especially concerned, since I know eventually they'll come and I'd as soon wait for one big box. (And not so I can live in it, though if it's nice I might) What throws me off is that while I'm pretty sure I'll now have enough time to finish the 109 pre-KS bones I have, I'm wondering if I'll have enough time to squeeze a few more in before the big box arrives. I require a hellaton of skeletons, even beyond what's coming in the KS+ my add-ons. I could knock out the remainder in the meanwhile.

This is a good idea. With hindsight being 20/20, I bet they wish they had just planned two shipments to everyone, first shipment the basic vampire, then the second everything else. They sort of did something like that for US customers anyway, with the sophies. There would be much less complaining if we were all drowning in a couple hundred minis while waiting for the add ons. Of course if they tried to do something like this now, asking for extra money for the vampire shipping, then there would be people complaining that they were trying to gouge customers. Even if it were a completely voluntary thing. With 18k backers, there will always be people complaining about something.
daosbeoulve
Were people getting all paint sets with the orders already received? My wife just grabbed a case and three of the paint sets (starter set 1 & 2, and undead). We were expecting her order to be way down the list just because it was an odd one. Kinda glad it hasn't come yet, actually. I might be tempted to use the paints for evil if I had them but no new bones to try them on.
Reaperbryan
I think even a wild guess as to when something will ship may be dangerous. Even if you are prepared to accept it as only an estimate, there is no telling who may take it as a promise, even with appropriate disclaimers. We have seen people take one data point (Example to follow) and try to build a pattern with which to guess, and then be angry about the answer they received. As such, we are very reluctant to give data that can be misconstrued - as evidenced below - *anything* can be misconstrued. Example: When we shipped our first box, we announced that it was to a person named Cindy A from Ohio. Within hours, multiple people commented that we were shipping in alphabetical order, and that was unfair as their last names started with W, T or Z.
