Baugi
Switched background out from black to gray, moved lamps so they're better diffused by the tissue of my ghetto homebrew lightbox. Pics definitely better. Highlights virtually all paint now, not reflections, except for a few off the bear loincloth and some of the metallic bits. Reposted pics in thread.
Falhurk
I picked up a light box off of ebay for reasonably cheap. For my camera setup I have: Canon Digital Rebel EOS 1000D (XS here in Canada) EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 ISEF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 ISEF 50mm f/1.8 II So, basically the cheapest DSLR that exists, along with the lower quality of lenses. Still learning how to take mini photo's properly without a macro lense but I've had a good amount of success.
Doug Sundseth
The current versions of the kit lenses for both Canon and Nikon systems are much better than their press. They're not fast lenses, but they're sharp and very capable for normal shooting.
Falhurk
I've been very happy with my camera and lenses for the couple of years I've had it.
