What part of VA are you in, MamaGeek? I'd like to come and learn at your feet. ^_^

But seriously, that's amazing for a speed paint. That's pretty bloody good for a slow paint. I hope this means you'll be returning to the forums more.

edit: added a y.

Thanks, everyone! I'm trying to push myself to get faster, and all these Bones minis will keep me in practice. Last Knight, my participation on the boards varies, but I do admit I've been lurking more than anything else lately. Life is so busy! I'll try to get on more... and feel free to PM me if you post so etching you'd especially like me to look at. That goes for anyone!

Jab, I probably spent more time on the eyes in proportion to the amount of the mini they make up than I did anywhere else. The eyes are the focal point, so they're very important.

She looks great, I love how the paint scheme works on her. Although you did make the cloak a more feminine pink than the studio job.

I would love to see how you make your bases, I am terrible with green stuff and would love to see what steps you take to achieve that style of base.

I agree with everyone else, her eyes are her face look great! She certainly does look very cheeky. I adore all the freehand patterns on the various fabrics you have, beautifully executed, especially given the time you allowed yourself.

Thanks, again!

Marsya, you push a glob of green stuff into a rough approximation of the shape you want, then get a clean, nicely textured rock from your yard, wet it so it doesn't stick, and gently press it all over the green stuff. The texture transfers, and voila! a rocky base. The rest is just paint, maybe a leaf or some static grass.
