Pragma
These are great. Your sense of lighting is really good on all of them, but especially the dwarf in blue. I would feel extremely guilty getting 7 minis painted at this quality for free.
Moderator OneBoot Posted November 2, 2013 Moderator Share Posted November 2, 2013 Woah, these are amazing for "speed painting," and your OSL is superb! I love the bold colors you used, and the green highlighting on the archer looks fantastic. His bow is really cool, with the gems on it. :) Huzzah! --OneBoot :D
Cassu
Ye gods, Cassu. As I always say, I love when real artists start painting minis. I really like how you painted Tox's flame as a single surface, I tend to get so caught up in highlighting and shading every little subsection individually. I'm making a note here. Thanks, I actually had heaps of fun shading the flames and wasn't too precious about it at all. I'm thinking about making a tutorial, I have a 9-tailed fire fox to paint that might make a good subject. I'm glad you all like the different colours I'm using for each mini, I was given a rough description of armor, hair and eye colour but I've tried my best to make them all stand out on the table. Also, always always always ask 'how many' before you say 'sure'! Augh indeed, lesson learned! I'm also not what one would call an assertive person, I think it comes with the territory of being a shut-in artist. Goblins all based up and a few last tid-bits to Deathsleet added. (Some extra head spines and a little shield to be buried in the snow.) Deathsleet primed and ready to paint! I primed my Goblins and Deathsleet with Citadel's Skull White spray, and again not had any problems with it. Added some rough flats to work out what sort of colour scheme I'd like. Thinking of giving him a blow glowing mouth, nostrils and eyes.
ub3r_n3rd
Amazing work. Love the OSL you did. Your friend and his group are reaaaaaallly lucky to have you painting their minis for them. Someone of your caliber could easily get $25+ per mini for your tabletop speed painting standards.
Cassu
I must admit I'm a glutton for punishment, and not so good at saying no to people. Sick again for the second time since Christmas, was able to regain enough of my upper body strength to spend an hour or so working on a new mini. Bertok the Barbarian from learn to Paint Kit #4: I really want to capture a Frank Frazetta Conan-esque type thing using very dark shadows and Earthy-tones.
Talae
I have my LTPK4 minis primed and ready to go, but wanted to clear some of my in-progress minis first. This makes me want to start tonight...
Cassu
I'm usually not to fond of over muscular-type male characters, but I must admit shading his various curves has been fun. Got in another couple of hours on his flesh tones tonight. If you're wondering why my photos look so different, these were taken with a fairly poor light set-up for taking photos. I'll take some better photos tomorrow if I get some more time to paint. It is now 1am and I need sleep. Corporea
It's sooo much easier than doing soft female skin. I agree- the sculpts with all the muscles look silly (no offense to the sculptors...) but they sure are fun to paint! I like the expression you have on his face!
Cassu
Thanks Corporea! I want to paint him more but still recovering from this cruddy illness I've had since New Years. (Went to the Doctor and got blood tests today, results to come on Thursday. Yay~) Despite his weird abs, I am totally in-love with his face. I'm trying not to be sexually attracted to my minis, but figures like this make it hard.

Cassu
Phrasing, Lana. I was hoping someone would pick up on that. +10 points for the Archer reference as well.

trystangst
I love that show. I was sad when I watched the last episode of the third season, which I thought was the last (it's all Netflix has). Imagine my surprise when I found out it's still going. Cassu - the barbarian is looking awesome. I've got a similar guy lying around, and all the muscles upon muscles are quite intimidating.
Cassu
Dannnngggggeerrrr zonnnnneeeeeee! "Woodhouse! Again...." (just in case you guys have completely missed it somewhere). I hadn't seen that, thanks for sharing! Amazing! Thanks so much. I too have quite a few Barbarian guys lying around, figured I'd start with the L2PK to get in some practice. Feeling a little better today and was able to pick up a brush for a few hours. (Get my test results back tomorrow so I can see what the hell is wrong with me. Yay~) Started my Nymph from the same L2PK: More work on the skin and face: Close-up of the face because it was a pain to paint but I'm fairly happy with it, and it's really hard to get a good angle of the mini to photograph where you can see the face too. Pretty much just started on the pink hair. Edited January 15, 2014 by Cassu
ub3r_n3rd
Glad you are feeling better Cassu, being sick sucks! Barbarian is looking really good. Like the grittier color scheme you are going with for his skin tones. The nymph is tiny and with 1/2 her face hidden like that I can see it being really hard to do. The pink hair is coming along very nicely too.
