When the speculation in the thread about the next Bones KS turned to a sci-fi or modern focus, I quietly wept. I know that, despite my utter lack of interest in those types of figures, I won't be able to set any sort of "I only collect this particular kind of Bones figures" restrictions on myself, and I'll spend a bunch of money on things I don't particularly care for. DLMyst Posted May 11, 2013 Share Posted May 11, 2013 Personally, I'm planing to throw one or more "painting parties" in which I convince my friends to each chip in a few bucks, and in return I supply brushes, paint, snacks, and their choice of one of my unwanted minis to paint and take home. Your very own "paint and take". not a bad idea. except I'm a compulsive completionist. I'd happily give some away, but then I'd have to buy them again. Falhurk Posted May 16, 2013 Share Posted May 16, 2013 Well, I'm pretty happy with what I ordered. If I were to regret anything it's that I'll have to paint the damn things. And my deadline is "whenever Dwarven Forge comes". I'd have liked to get the paint sets but I already have the full range of Minitaire, Games Workshop, and a smattering of Vallejo and other brands.. I'm still trying to figure out how to explain to my family why a huge box of miniatures arrived at our door step. I was thinking of lying with something like Oh look honey they accidentally delivered it to the wrong house but we should keep it because it was meant to be. But she will see right through me because of my sheepish grin and then she will check the label, so I will just have to tell her the truth and then get dragged to the mall to buy her a nice new purse because I'm in trouble, again. More romantic evenings are always good though. At that point she'll think the chocolate gifts and romantic evenings are routine and the minis will still be an issue when they arrive. I regret forgetting to order extra Haunts for my son. (I gave him the ones out of my Vampire box.) And I should have added the Mythos Monsters too... I can think of 2 people who would be thrilled if I surprised them with them... and then tell me off because they have nothing to paint them with. I am evil like that. Sure he's freaking ginormous and we'd have absolutely nowhere to put him when he's all put together, but...the box could have found space in the closet and we won't be living in this shoebox of an apartment forever.
