Reaper at PAX Australia?

Recommended Posts

I know this has been asked a few times around here, no official word from anyone yet though.

Does Reaper have plans to attend the first PAX Australia in Melbourne this July?

I know Reaper has had a presence at GenCon in the past but wondering about PAX. Would love to meet some of you! (Also would like to know soon so I know how much money to save up.) ^_^^_^^_^

Based on the logistics they would have to go through and with everything going on with BONES in Denton, I seriously doubt that they would be able to pull this off this year. I'm sure we would have heard about it by now if they were heading that way. Certainly doesn't rule it out for the future, I'm sure they would love to attend.

We do not currently have plans to attend PAX Australia. I am also unaware of any intention to add it to our 2014 Convention schedule at this time.

We have brought the idea up, but at this point the expense and logistics of transporting the goods and personnel make the idea unlikely for the near future.

To the best of my knowledge we have never attended a con outside the US, but some discussion has been made of sending a crew, but not a booth, so no "official" presence to scout several international shows. No concrete plans have been made yet.

You're always welcome to send a crew to Buglipscon!

Which is totally a real thing, I swear!

Okay, so it's really just hanging out in my living room with beer and pizza and old movies from pre-1950.

Still, the invitation stands. And I will say, not to build it up too much, that I have one hell of a comfy couch.

If Reaper were to have a booth at PAX Australia, you could probably have a cage deathmatch between the normal booth volunteers (and staff for that matter) over who got to go. :;):

*flies on own dime, tries to sneak along*

"Hey, wait a minnit . . ." *looks at my nametag* "'Reeper Minotures'? You're not one of us! You're Buglips!"

*chases me away with broom*

"I just wanted to be a part of things!'

Hmm there was a Reaper paint and take at the last GenCon Oz, its actually where I first used Reaper paints.

I was certainly wondering if that might be repeated for PAXOz, but wasn't expecting a full on Reaper presence its a huge investment for likely minimal return when you consider that a big con here in Oz is only a medium sized one in the US. (Mind PAX Oz did sell out so I expect next years to be bigger.)

Back when I ran the Black Lightning Demo Team, I had several members in Oz who would run events including at GenCon Oz.

It was not a team from HQ, they did not send a retail booth set up, they were volunteers in the program.

The BL Program has since folded.

      Hi guys!

I see that Reaper Miniatures is on the exhibitors list for PAX Unplugged (November 17-19 in Philadelphia). I have couple questions as to what we can expect to see there:
      1. Will you be running any painting classes? From the comments I see on this forum they seemed to be great successes at Reapercon and I was hoping to be able to participate in one if possible.
      2. Is there any chance some of the large figures from Bones 3 that have currently unsolved packaging issues (Goremaw, Froghemoth) could be made available at the convention? (I'm dying for a Goremaw)

I'm looking forward to seeing you guys there!

I attended PAX Aus this weekend on the Saturday and Sunday and stopped by the Reaper Paint and Take area on both days! I was excited since I didn't get to spend any time there last year.

Saturday I entered the speed painting competition, we were given an hour to paint the Townsfolk Mom and Kids. It was such a fun challenge! I won!

I won an amazing little medal! Eeee! I was so flattered.

The next day I also entered the 'paint and take' competition, which was to sit down and paint a miniature on the day. I spent two hours painting upthis Bones Terezinya figure:

And I won another trophy! I had so much fun, and everyone working hard at the Paint and Take area did such an amazing job. It was an amazing weekend. I don't often get to paint around other people or be exposed to so much Reaper-y goodness! One day I will make it to Reaper Con, one daaaay!

So I see PAX just added a new show in Philadelphia in November. Will Reaper be attending this one? I vaguely remember you attending some of them, but I wasn't sure if you do all of them.

      Hola Reaperpeeps,

Will you have the new Bones HD paints at PAX? And if so, are they available as a bundle, or will they be loose bottles only?

It sounds like you'll be in the same space near the escalator as the last couple years, yes? I look forward to stopping by.

Just like the title says - PAX South is only 3 weeks away! Jan 29th-31st in San Antonio, Texas.

Is anyone from the forums going? PAX cons are usually talked about for their video gaming parts, but the tabletop part is getting more notice nowadays.
