so as busy as the forums are getting I decided to locate all my wips to here.

starting off are going to be 4 minis for my gf based on the walking dead.

I didn't make much head way as I starting feeling really sick this afternoon but.

As I see them, Merle on the left Rick in the middle Both from season 1 and I ran across this female styled ash from army of darkness complete with sawed off shotgun and metal gauntlet. (which holds a special spot in my dark heart as my daughter was named after ash from the evil dead movies. no really it was the S/o's idea)

 

and a "good" shot of merle.

so the current state of the minis, the ruddy leather I was using on rick's hat/pants had some issues like needing an hour in a frigging paint mixer.

I drug a little steel over the chainsaw to add in the chips in the paint they get from heavy/rough use, the Merle mini is coming along nicely.

took advantage of the great weather to seal my finished mini's that needed it, I sprayed them and let them set for 24h.

haven't had much inspiration lately and have been spending a lot of my free time at the gun range or helping my sister get her house ready to sell Until My tengu mini had a accident and lost a part this week.

the book popped loose at game this week and I used that as an excuse to repaint my first mini and see if i couldn't do a better job on the 4th attempt.

So both arms and the tail have been pinned, the book was left out due to the hand being small enough I didn't want to risk pinning it even with the thin drill i'm using.

for the armor I went pure black with two steps of purple highlighting on the raised sections.
the skin was ultra marine shadow with a heavy dry brushing of ashen blue, the log started as a black base then dry brushed with ruddy leather then oiled leather and finally a two step green dry brush for moss/mold and so on.

 

I forgot to highlight the bracer on the right arm before I used the brush on sealer.... anyway all that's left is the final coat of dull coat once it stops raining.

 

Side note: the sword was painted "green" as the character picked up the corrosive weapon enchant that does an extra 1d6 on a hit, so he hits for 1d10+5 1d6. I went with a darker theme for the armor as he's gotten very sneaky over the past few levels.

So my bones should be delivered sometime monday... and I'm sitting at work atm debating taking Monday night off >,>

Got my bones in right after I left for work yesterday, I was up untill 3 am "unboxing" and sorting them to see if any of the extras where missing.

So 1.5 vampire and a couple of addons...

 

... me thinks me went a little overboard...

started on the Colossal Skeleton.

 

#1 Make sure you have good lighting when painting this as the graveyard bone paint is slightly difficult to see where you have painted on bones in normal light, I found myself having to redo sections that I missed.

pay special attention to the spine and inbetween the shoulder blades as these areas were especially bad about it.

 

 

 

 

shadows and highlights.

 

 

I went much heavier on the right side of the skull as there's no direct light on this side with the way he leans.

 

 

 

Just a demo I haven't decided if I am going to leave him Un glued/pinned for transport yet.
