ub3r_n3rd
Worst part is... I think my mom would understand it easily. She has a very warped mind at times. I just felt guilty about helping in the derail Nah, don't feel bad. It gives LadyStorm something to do when she goes in and prunes the thread!

Slendertroll
Apparently the original Old English word for "bear" has been lost, because of the then-common belief that saying its name would summon it. "Bear" just means "brown one." This is inexplicably funny to me; I'm just imagining some peasant slipping up and accidentally saying it, and then turning around to see a massive bear peering through the window of his hovel. Also, the idea of a bear hearing its name from a mile away, and immediately turning tail and charging towards the person who said it.

Flamehawke
I need to hunt down boxes, since we're moving at the end of the month =.=So much moving! You, Flame, Mrs. Boot... In my case it is to be near family. Out of work and going to college due to that. My friend is awesome for taking me in as I would have been homeless otherwise, but my mom found a good job and is willing to take me on again. She figures family should take care of family, but we are both super grateful to my friend through all of this who has made things easier. Besides I had already had been thinking of college so losing my job made me get a degree I would enjoy taking as opposed to one to advance my career in a supermarket
Moderator Chaoswolf Posted May 1, 2014 Moderator Share Posted May 1, 2014 For boxes, go ask your local supermarket, I got a metric butt-ton of 'em the last time I moved. All for free; heck they were glad to give 'em to me---saved them the trouble of breaking them down.

Moderator OneBoot Posted May 1, 2014 Moderator Share Posted May 1, 2014 Be on the look out for an opposing band of puppet-worshipping orcs. Yep, that's exactly where Banjo came from. I'm glad you got the joke! How this all started was in a previous campaign, I was halfway through making my character (same one as I'm playing now), and stepped away for a bit to grab something to eat. While I was away, Mr. Boot stealthily added "Craft: Wedding Cake" and "Perform: Hamster Dance" to my skills list, and put "Banjo" down as my deity. When I discovered this, I thought it was so funny that I left them just as they were and incorporated them into my character's personality. Things escalated from there, to the point that before the campaign ended due to the GM moving, Banjo was an actual deity (with a different name, I don't remember it now), trapped in some alternate dimension, and the hand puppet my character had was a sort of icon that he could channel through. This fundamentally bothered the cleric, and intrigued the paladin. It was a lot of fun, and made for some really interesting and hilarious roleplaying. Huzzah! --OneBoot :D
