Delayed Fairytales meet The Hunger Games/Battle Royale

They have 3 days left, and just added a standalone expansion to the game for all backers getting the base game. If they reach their next stretch goal, they will add a Steampunk version as well. Not too shabby, all things considered.

 

If the funding for this thing really picks up, they may even be able to reach the miniatures! If they manage that, that's the base game, three standalone variations of the game that can be incorporated into the base game, and a ton of minis for 65 bucks. Here's hoping!

Its a pity the miniatures weren´t available for themselves. Maybe for another kickstarter. It would be nice to see how they look

I think they misplayed this by not showing any concept or anything for the miniatures. I mean, if they're only so-so and don't draw extra backers, no actual harm done; if they're any good, they might've scored a good number of extra backers who won't go in just for a bunch of cards.

They're now about 5k away from unlocking the miniatures, but still haven't shown concepts for them. Might nonetheless make it, but a bit more concept work would have them home safe.

I considered that the minis might not be all that exciting, but then I realized that I'd still be getting a presumably fun card game that I'll play with my friends, so it's not a total loss even if the minis don't pan out. It seemed worth the risk :)

I would have back it right at the beginning if they market it as a mini game.

It's not a mini game. The way I understand it, I guess it should be possible to use the minis as game tokens that show how a character moves on the map.

 

Doesn't change the fact that depending on style/quality of the figs, actually showing them off might've drawn in extra backers like it did for... help me out here, there was another fairytale game with minis not too long ago... because figs representing fairytale characters (esp. not-so-human ones) aren't always easy to find.

I left my pledge at a single dollar in the end. I didn't want to take that big a gamble on a completely unknown factor. If concepts do appear and there is any sort of pledge-manager option to increase funds later I can go for it then, but if not I don't feel too bad about it.

Product hasn't been delivered and they're already KS'ing a sequel. With plastic minis. And it funded in under 3 hrs.

 

For the moment I'm in at Big Bad Wolf. We'll see how it evolves (and if it will finish before the Big Bad Reaper enter the scene).

I remember the artwork of the first one being very interesting, but I never backed.

 

I tried finding pics of actual minis without any luck. All I can find are renders and what appear to be coloured renders.
