Delayed Fairytales meet The Hunger Games/Battle Royale

I'll admit, I had to go look up a few of the characters when I looked into this.  I'd never heard of Juniper Boy or the Little Matchstick Girl, for example (or some of the names of the previously-only-knew-from-Disney characters).

 

 I'm kinda psyched that they included a fair number of non-European mythical characters like Baba Yaga, the futakuchi onna, slit-mouthed woman (kuchisake onna) and hulder, and the historicals like Guan Yu and Jeanne d'Arc.

I went through the models today a little bit. They look really nice. A similar material to bones but very crisp sculpts for the most part. Really like the cheshire cat.

I thought the inclusion of historical figures was a bit odd, but I guess they're throwing them into the "mythological" category so it kind of works.  Joan of Arc just seems like a bizarre choice, though.

 Agreed, although it could be argued that the story and mythology surrounding her (national hero and secondary patron saint of France) has gotten much larger than the literal facts of her life, so she's crossed that line between historical figure and mythical folk hero (especially in France), even though her legend is much younger than say, Miyamoto Musashi's or Guan Yu's... I suppose you could consider her a French fairytale figure, much like Robin Hood is for the English. The main difference being that with the Joan of Arc story it originated in a time period for which we have better records on the historical facts behind the legend.

 

Plus, she's also a young woman in full armor with a sword, and just looks seriously cool, so I can see why they'd include her in the game.

Got my 2 boxes yesterday (I mostly went for the new sets) and I'm in agreement with most people.  Very bones like material but much better detail.

 

Figures are quite large, more inline with the newer games like WWX, Arena Rex and the new infinity sculpts but still seam a tad bit larger.  I would do a better comparison but most of my stuff is packed now.

Size wise... My Red figure... (little red riding hood with 2 axes) is a little taller than my plastic Kingdom death twiliaght night. But similar scale.

 Yeah, same here - I went in big on the minis-only KS and could only afford the Dark Ones and the Mercenaries from the original 40...

I'm hoping mine show up sometime this week. I don't have a problem with things that are a month or two (or a year) off in the future, but once I know that things are actually shipping, patience is not my strong suite, lol.

My minis arrived last night. Like a few others, I got one box in grey and the other five in green. These minis are huge, and the quality seems quite good. I like the bases, they have some nice details on them. For instance Peter Pan has skulls on his base, and Prof. Thorne has an open book at his feet.

 

There was one happy Wizard of Oz reunion at my place, the Reaper Chronoscope scarecrow was reunited with the cowardly lion (they then ran off in search of the Guild of Harmony Steampunk Dorothy, knowing she is around here somewhere):

Would it be safe to assume that everyone has received their Sacred 40 at this point?

 

I picked up one of the abandoned Lion pledges back in January but haven't seen/received anything since then. Nor have I had any notifications on what's been happening to keep me appraised of things.

 

Unfortunately, not being a backer via Kickstarter, I cannot post there in order to follow up although I have been following their updates there. I've mailed all of Greenbrier/Artistic Justice Games email addresses every few weeks for more than 3 months now with no response. At this point, I'm beyond despondent and have been ignoring all their more recent KS's as I don't feel I can trust them  to communicate effectively in case of issues.

 

If someone got back to me and at the very least let me know that there was an issue and that I would still be taken care of, I'd be okay (weary, but okay). As it stands now, though, all I want is my money back so I can move on from this mess.

 

Anyone have any idea how I can get hold of them?

It would be safe to assume nobody in EU (or at least not me) has received anything .

@All Greenbrier Games is working through the shipping and I believe the last report they had for us was that AU was almost complete (they were missing those who hadn't had a chance to reply to their "address update" email). If you hadn't received that e-mail, please contact them at: [email protected] and ask for Tony. He is handling the shipping logistics for all of our products from Greenbrier Games.

As for EU and CAN they should be starting it this week or next. I'm not sure if they will do a mass e-mail for you to update your address like they did for AUS, but I will keep you informed when I find out their strategy. With the safety testing done, there should not be any more hold ups for EU.

 

@Eric, Julian, and Scott from what I understand, the boat has just arrived at each of the hubs (with the exception of the US which will be next week). I'm going to have a meeting with Greenbrier Games in regards to how they plan on fulfilling and if there's anything on our side that we can do to help them speed up the process. From my understanding, they will be doing the Sacred40 Minis Re-issues (for those who had errors, defects or missing minis during the first wave) at the same time as Battle Royale to save us on shipping costs (and to help international backers as well).

It seems that they're in fulfillment hell with this one. Comms with the project owner seems to have broken down and no one has a clear idea of what's going on. Refunds offered over a year ago have not been paid

I bought 2 dropped pledges from their website... I have gotten the sacred 40 though... Now I am thinking it may have been a mistake... but... at least I got something... :)

Similar situation here (got Sacred 40, waiting on others).  I'm kind of hoping they aren't fulfilling anytime soon, since I'm moving and all...

Theyved shoved the work off onto greenbrier last I heard, which seems like an awful ibea considering how greenbrier have their own KS fulfillment to worry about.
