There are things I really like about this...but the fact that I haven't received the first minis, or game, makes me wonder if they need this to finish funding their last ks. I'll have to do some research...but, Darsc, I haven't seen anything other than renders, either, and that seems odd...

I'm concerned because they're talking about the minis being made of hard, injection molded plastic, which to my understanding means no undercuts. A limitation that I'm not seeing in the renders. That makes me wonder what the final product will really look like.

Hopefully someone with more understanding of the casting process will show up here to give their thoughts.

I think this is a real possibility. The original kickstarter turned into an insanely good deal. The $65 pledge contained four complete stand alone games (available now @$60 each) and two explansions (now @$25 each) plus 40 miniatures (the current kickstarter has individual minis for $10 each). I don't know how expensive it is to make cards, but they posted that the $65 pledge consists of 2160 cards, international shipping with the minis is only $10. It sounds like it could be a money losing venture to me. In any case, I backed the second kickstarter, fairytale minis are cool (like bowties) and backers of both projects get a bonus mini of this:

This kickstarter has developed into a very odd beastie.

Within seconds of each other Godfather Punk and I, totally unplanned, posted the when will we see a photo of an actual mini question, on the kickstarters comment section.

The creator did answer, sort of, with what I took as not until sometime next month. No promises made that it would be before the end of the current kickstarter.

The part that really kills me, is that even though no minis from the first kickstarter have been shown...

and no minis from the current kickstarter has been shown...

and the creator has no history or experience producing miniatures...

and even admitted that minis were added to the first kickstarter as an afterthought for decorative purposes... Like card sleeves.

and lastly, 40 minis at the quality of the shown renders for the price being asked falls under the too good to be true category.

Even despite all the above. No one in the comments section is pushing for the hard answers or demanding to see some miniatures.

In fact the comments section has turned into one big offtopic spamfest taken over by a number of backers using it as a social forum and a fanfest.

Don't get me wrong. I love to see enthusiastic supporters and I like to gab a bit myself, but there's no proof, no evidence, no past history that gives an idea what the final minis will look like.

And that's just driving me crazy. I love love love the renders, but its been my experience that renders and the final minis often have very big differences and can compare quite poorly. I want to believe we'll get those renders in the production minis, but the sceptic in me... Just wont let me.

I don't think I've ever been this conflicted over a kickstarter before.

Wow. I went to look for the question asked by Darsc/Godfather, but gave up after scrolling through god knows how many pages of comments. That is some seriously OT chatting going on there. I've considered myself a pretty vocal backer at times, but this was taking it to another level.

Anyway, FWIW, if I was backing this those concerns listed by Darsc Zacal above would probably convince me to pull out. Seems almost fishy to me. So to get things straight, has the game from the previous KS not been delivered yet? Or is it just the minis that are yet unseen?

I agree with most of your points but they're not managing their mini production, someone else is:

Artistic Justice is proud to reveal that the company working with us to bring you top quality minis, is none other than Greenbrier Games! You may know them as the ones that brought us the awesome Zpocalypse series!

Now what the quality of the minis for that game are, I have no idea, but it does appear they're outsourcing. Price wise box sets are costing $9 a miniature which isn't a crazy cheap price (not adding the boss as they seam to be a bonus, and I was told in the congrats message that one box as $45), and if these were metal I don't think there'd be much complaint about those sculpts translating at that price.

Plastic, though, is a mixed bag on what you're going to get. I have a feeling these are going to be about the quality of a Fantasy Flight plastic mini.

Not done yet as it only funded a few months ago. Apparently they launched the mini campaign because there was a demand from the people in the first KS to do so.
