77005: Ogre Chieftain by Naponatom

Recommended Posts

Well, I had just painted 2 miniatures in my entire life until I got a e-mail from Paizo telling about Reaper´s Kickstarter. And when it hit me that I will have to paint 300 miniatures I know I have to practice.

So I order some BONES from Reaper, bought some brush, paint, and started to improve my dorment skills.

Here are the first, The Ogre Chieftain by Jason Wiebe. Hopefully I can get tips and criticism that will help me achieve the level of painting that I want.

I had problems finding the correct flow in the sholder tatoo paint. It came out a little thick (but I did it so many times that I was worry that the tatoo will fade, so I just leave it as that).

Enjoy! :)

You're doing good, just keep practicing at this point. You're paying attention to how the paint is flowing, which is awesome. Your yellow may have been sitting around a while, if it's a bit thick don't be afraid to thin it down until it acts the way you want it to. Paint consistency is something I'm still working on, but it does become a lot more natural of a feel over time.

For now, stick to the basics of using washes and drybrushing. Once you're comfortable with that, then you can branch out into layering and all kinds of stuff. Even if you don't buy the Reaper Learn to Paint Kits (which are awesome!), they do kind of give you a guideline as to how to progress as a painter.

There are a lot of good resources here, keep reading and asking questions.
