bkjohns96
I would like to see elves, dwarves and orcs in Oriental type clothes and armor. I think the lightweight nature of the Bones material would allow sculptors to make some flying dragon sculpts. It would be neat to use arial combat with flying dragons.
Alex3
I'd like to see the warlord line eventually, or even new sculpts for the armies. If you could create a wargame with an army that is lightweight, durable, inexpensive and looks good that doesn't require a suitcase and foam to carry it you would make millions. But specifically I like Nefsokar. Would love a kickstarter for the warlord line in general, since this one was mostly dark heavens and other stuff. The other ones I'd like to see is anything Pathfinder as those sculpts are all amazing, and the Deadlands minis. eta- And I'll second the 'mook' idea from upthread. I have a lot of the cheap prepainted plastic D&D minis off miniature market, and while there are a lot of potential character minis and monsters most of them are generic looking badguys, because that's what you usually need the most of. ShadowRaven
even just the regular troopers in Bones, and the 'named hero' type Warlord figures in metal would be great for army building
Fiendish Puppy
Off the top of my head, I could certainly go for more Kobolds. Seems in recent times there's been a surge in Kobolds wearing heavy armour (Usually scale) and armed with a shield and shortsword. But there are few actual good looking miniatures for this. And from what I've seem, Reaper would probably do some damned fine ones.
Moderator OneBoot Posted July 10, 2013 Moderator Share Posted July 10, 2013 1) More dire animals! 2) Another goblin or two with a whip I've fought more dire creatures than normal ones, that's for sure. Also, those tend to be the ones that get summoned. Dire bats, dire wolves, dire tigers, etc. In my current game, one of the players is able to turn into a dire bat. I went searching for a good mini to use for her bat form, and I only found TWO sculpts: one from Reaper, and one from (I think) Wizards of the Coast, though it may have been Paizo. Anyways, that's it, that's all I could find. Similar story for goblin minis with whips. Another PC in my current game is a goblin that uses a spiked chain, and I'm totally thrilled that we got a goblin with a whip of any sort in our Vampire, since that's the closest I've seen to matching Gobby. I'm, er, going to have to modify her (the mini is a female) some to match Gobby better, but the only other goblin sculpt with a whip I've seen is, again, from Paizo. It's not a bad one, I just like Reaper's work better. :D Huzzah! --OneBoot :D
dglass
More big things. Stuff that would be impossible to do in metal.
Alex3
even just the regular troopers in Bones, and the 'named hero' type Warlord figures in metal would be great for army building Ah yes.. I think anything for an army is the way to go, the material works so well for that method. It's nice for to-look-at minis, it's nice for tabletop rpg minis, but for armies the perks just blow my mind. It occurs to me that I didn't see any mounted characters really, so that might be something worth looking into. Every now and then you have a paladin who has a special mount, so actually having the SAME sculpt- one on horseback, one on foot- would be really cool. At least for paladins, to start. Moderator OneBoot Posted July 11, 2013 Moderator Share Posted July 11, 2013 Joke mini that would actually be kind of epic: the Kool-Aid Man busting through a brick wall. This comic gave me the idea (don't worry, it's clean): http://www.applegeeks.com/comics/viewcomic.php?issue=187 Huzzah! --OneBoot :D
Westerlyn
I'm not going to recommend anything specific, but Reaper really needs more models that I can buy five of and less that I need one of. How many specific wizards holding some specific thing am I ever going to need? One, and that's only if I need that specific wizard. How many skeletons do I own right now? One hundred. Some are on fire, some are ice skeletons, I have skeletons of every shade and color just because I can. I have eight purple worms because I wanted ice worms, fire worms, radioactive worms, sludge worms. Even something like the minotaur I own four of because he can be all different colors. Player characters, not so much. I guess the main point is that I want more monsters and less humans. Even releasing another skeleton would instantly make me buy thirty so that I have as many of that skeleton as I do every other skeleton.
redambrosia
I concur. The strength of the Bones line is cheap monster-types. Additionally, grunt types, including city guard/squad packs. Maybe not 5 of Sir Forscale, he's become an icon, but 5 of helmed humans, elves, dwarves, etc. male and female, melee and archers. Buy a couple of those packs and you're set for whatever battle your DM inflicts upon you. Oh, and a few packs of dead guys. You know, for atmosphere.

I wonder how worthwhile modular grunt packs would be? It was an interesting idea (I'm sure they didn't originate it) Raging Heroes had with their kickstarter troopers, limbs, heads and weapons that are not only interchangeable, but also poseable, giving many customization options. Usually, I look at minis that require assembly as intimidating, but by all accounts bones are quite easy to assemble. Imagine a pack of six guardsmen in the style of Sir Forescale, six similar but distinct torsos, six separate heads, twelve arms, six swords, three spears, three axes, and six shields. Now imagine them all with easy to pose and glue ball and socket joints at the neck and shoulders, and the customization is unlimited, whilst still keeping a thematic look for soldiers. It seems like it could be hugely popular if they could make them in the bones line. Then, if the first set were popular, they could keep expanding the line: a set of town guards (similar to soldiers, with medium armour, polearms and crossbows) brigands (more eclectic armour and weapon choices, maybe a sack or two for the hand) rogues (light armour and weapons, maybe a necklace and at least one huge diamond) spell casters (robes, tunics, bare hands, spell effects like fire and lightning that could be added in place of weapons, pointing fingers, turbans, pointed hats) orcs (variously armoured torsos, some helms, double weapons) Demi-humans, humanoids, undead, there are a lot of possibilities.
Arnifix
I like the idea and would buy in, however heroes too please! Hero figures can be used as NPCs and as bad guys in a pinch, plus when you consider all the class, race, gender combinations it quickly becomes prohibitive to be purchasing that many heroes. Hell, modular heroes would be awesome too! Finding awesome minis with the wrong weapon is always the pits.

My 36 guys look awfully alike with only three variants.
