Bones You'd Like to See, thread #2

Recommended Posts

What I would like to see most is the have the various gaps left by Bones 1 & 2 be filled.

Missing monster gaps. Air Elementals, missing Devil types, more Angels, Archons, Azata/Eladrin, etc.

Missing gender gaps. A male Cloud Giant and female pretty much everything (Hill Giant, Storm Giant, Bugbears, etc).

Of course most important of all is the missing player character gaps. Cleric types of all races, female dwarven caster type, female Orcs/Half-Orcs of all types, Orc/Half-Orc caster (shaman) types, more Human ethnic diversity, etc.

More eccentric stuff is nice but I want to be able to fill out the fundamentals first.

A female halfling would be nice.

What are the odds of seeing more townsfolk, "normal" people, women, and children in Bones? Particularly with new sculpts, because, to be blunt, even the current metal townsfolk are often not the most detailed or appealing pieces.

I imagine I'm not the only one soon to be (or already) in need of large quantities of NPCs to fill villages, towns, cities, and sewers. The more professions represented, the better, but I could just as well use men, women, and children of no discernible occupation to roam the streets, fill the bars, work the fields, or take up arms to join an adventure. Who else can my assassins hide among? Where are my dapper gents when someone needs a loan? Where are the snotty brats who'll steal coin pouches as a story hook, only to rescue the party from the sewer in their hour of need? What of the love interests? The young nobles held for ransom? Younger versions of the player characters themselves is another valuable option.

It would also be nice to have minis suitable for running games with younger nieces & cousins, for whom large bosoms and boob armor just won't do. We have Cinderella at the ball, but where's the girl in rags? If I want fary tale minis, I have to look elsewhere, and the competition is scarce. What little there is, is too often like zombie Jack & Jill or Reaper's own sexy Miss Muffet. We don't even need specific named characters in this department; the right generic townsfolk could be painted or modded to anyone's needs.

Something I would like to see added to the line are prisoners / slaves.  Generic guys (and girls) in shackles, that could be found in dungeon prisons, could be used as slaves or captives, or, could prisoners that the party has captured, are transporting, or are interrogating in the castle of some lord would be nice.  I'd prefer to see them in a variety of races as well as in both genders.  You never know when you might need to rescue an elven maiden, or, when an orc slave kept in a giant's keep might provide you with valuable intel.

Actually, having the Spirits 02214 and maybe the Death Shroud 02546 in clear Bonesium would look real cool, a good substitute for generic characters in cloaks of invisibility or maybe ghostly apperitions.

More critters from the Reptus line of miniatures.  And more Townsfolk, maybe even a bet set of 15 or 20 from the Townsfolk line of miniatures to quickly populate a village.

Expanding upon my last request, since Reaper is starting to build furniture and set pieces, how about some instruments of torture to outfit our favorite dungeon or torture chamber?  A nice iron maiden (excellent!), a quick stretch on the rack, a brazier with warming tongs and brands, a chair with iron boot, a guillotine.  The possibilities are practically endless.  And they could be built to display empty, or, with some minor ethical pondering, occupied, either by fresh victims, or, by skeletal remains.  Throw in a couple of hooded gentlemen plying whip or pliers, and you have a great set.  What DM doesn't need one?

Also, while doing a search of the works of Tre Manor in the store yesterday I stumbled upon; 03489 Black Orc Warriors.  It is a crime against dungeon mastering that my tribe of Bones Orcs is missing these two fine specimens!  If these two Orcs were to go into production, I would buy at least five of each, to match the numbers of the other Manor sculpted Orcs I received as part of my first Bones Kickstarter pledge.  Right now, my players are stuck facing only 25 Orc warriors.  With your help, that tribe can reach 35 in no time flat.

In fact, I would nominate any of Mr. Manor's fine work, and several examples of it already exist in the Bones line.  I would tend to lean towards the monsters over the characters, as I do my gaming behind the screen and prefer to collect tribe sized hordes of monsters, but I must admit, several of his barbarians sculpts are excellent, and I really like 03175 Gerrin Greystone.

The figures I really like be made as bones are all the gladiators and greek figures. I own most of them in metal (especially Greeks, for use in Of Gods and Mortals) but I'd gladly purchase thema again if made available in the bones line.

Especially the Pegasus, which looks fragile and heavy in metal...A couple of the Greek gods at about 54mm would be nice too. (My vote would be for Athena.)
