77022: Michelle, Female Human Ranger

One Michelle done here! Based on the feedback I got on my last mini (Flit the Dragon), I tried to go for some sharper contrasts on this one, and I also messed around with a little lining. Not super happy with the cloak, but I was fiddling with it and eventually just told myself to move on in the spirit of keeping things fun. The eye patch isn't really an original idea, I think I've seen more than one Michelle 'patched up' like this, but her right eye was just so messed up I think this was the best way to handle it. C&C is always welcome!

 

Also, here's a group shot of the eight Bones I have completed so far. As I'm of course still waiting for my 'big box' to arrive, I would have liked to have had my eight fellows here displayed with a big cute "Welcome to your new home!"-banner. Or perhaps, a bit more aggressively, toting "Stop this atrocity! Release our 240 friends now!"-placards. ( )

I think the cloak is the best part of this mini. The dark lining is nice, too. Good work!

 

My suggestion is to play with more colors in the shadows. White and black desaturate, so shade with not just a black- darkened shade of the base, but with another color. And use white only in the brightest highlights. Keep it up! You're improving. And practice is the only way to learn.

AN EYE PATCH!!! Brilliant idea (even if it wasn't yours I'm giving you credit) - I just finished my Michelle, and I had no idea what to do with her left eye.
