I stumble into the forum, my black cowl filled with Ice cubes. waving two white flags !

I surrender, two days of 96 degree heat, high humidity, and blinding sunlight.

Summer wins this round!

I wrap myself around the A/C unit and fall asleep.. at last !

For real fun you need to affect a thick accent of indeterminate origin and pronounce oven slightly off so it sounds like you inserted an L.

"Hello, am looking for lovin.  Big lovin, must be big.  Also need can be hot.  How much would be big, hot lovin?"

I get hung up on a lot.

There are some numbers you can call where they won't hang up on you for $3.99/minute....

I know... but I'm still paying off what I owe Miss Cleo's estate for all those stock tips.  I remain confident in my portfolio of radish futures.  And also I should probably check on my Bear Stearns and Enron stocks.

I must be worth a FORTUNE by now.

Xherman,

What breed of dog is Brutus..

He's Gorgeous !

Jay

Our Brutus is a Boxer .

Most are known as brown or striped.

But white ones do exist! In fact I've had Boxers since I was 5, and this is my second white one.

Boxers are extremely playful, kind, funny but also very strong and somewhat boorish.

They will playfully run you over if you're not careful!

They protect their family and are very kind to children.

It is my favorite breed and I wouldn't want any other breed.

Perhaps when I'm getting really old, the English Bulldog, since that is their nephew..

My in-laws have a sweet old brindle boxer.  She's a honey, and very mellow.

Unfortunately, when both she and my youngest were pups they had a bit of a misunderstanding.  My youngest, an anxious beanpole sort, was probably outweighed by the young boxer, who was at the time a little excitable ball of muscle.

Unfortunately, my youngest's reaction to anxiety was to jump up and down a few times, then run.

You can imagine how a pup dog would take that.

They are best buddies now.  "Yo."  "'Sup?"

That explains why I enjoy seeing his antics.

My neighbor has one (brown/brindle white).

She is a spoiled eternal teenager.. whine, whine, whine, and wants her way always.

Very kind and loving, and a bundle of energy.

Bulldogs are wonderful, but so many health problems..

I'm thinking of getting a dog when I get back from Norway next year.

Just the breed must match my personality, and age now.

One of my friends had a Boxer and a French Bulldog.

They were both asleep on the couch when the doorbell rang.

The Boxer stood up and stepped on the front leg of the little Bulldog and broke it.

Not intentional, they just don't watch what they're doing.

Luckily the little guy could be saved and healed..

I've had a few , Odin was quite the dominant type, Brutus is very very mellow.

Maybe because his mother died during giving birth, and he was handfed with bottles.

That and my stepdaughters who spoiled him rotten and treat him like a plush doll.

He likes it and behaves like one now....

A 36 kg lapdog.

I've had 3 of these guys since I moved out of my parent's house.

And I grew up with one, my parents had 2 more later too.

As a result I can read this breed.

One look in the eyes of a Boxer and I know what he's planning, something I can't do with other breeds..

They are the most playful and gentle souls around, but will fiercely protect you when nessecary.

The only drawback? They live up to like 10, maybe 11 years. Then you have to say goodbye.

Do not be mistaken though.

They are STRONG!

You need to discipline them at a young age so they will stay with you when walking.

If you don't do that right, they WILL run with you on the leash after them, be it running or sliding, they don't care.... ::D:

Also, that is indeed why I love this breed.

They will stay playful till death.

Sure, they will slow down a little, but where most breeds stop playing much and tend to sleep.

You can always get a Boxer to play.

If they stop playing and get cranky, see a vet.

They have a high pain treshold and will not give clear signals about pain.

Odin jumped through hoops and played and played.

Till I noticed he growled very softly when the girls were hugging him and put pressure in his neck.

He had spondylosis. The Vet told me a human would have been in a weelchair.

Odin kept playing to amuse his girls..

Then came the day he gave up, no eating no playing.

I let the Vet examine him, his stomach was riddled with cancer.

He was 10 and I let him go.

Brutus came 2 years after that.

Before Odin I had Balthar, another white.

He made it to 11.

Brutus is 3 now, so we hope he will become 40 ::D:
