Wrath of Kings

So, Wrath of Kings is supposed to start a kickstarter in August. They have been pretty tight lipped but the miniatures look pretty cool.

Here is the website... www.wrathofkings.com

The faction I am looking forward to is Goritsi... Werewolves and vampires... Were wolves look to be large confrontation size... And I have seen both male and female models... The vampires look pretty cool too...

Anyone else excited for this?

CMON? I have my 10ft bargepole ready to determine the minimum distance required to maintain from the Kickstarter comments.

I didn't think overly much of the concept art in that video but looking at the existing minatures at the least I quite like the Teknes pigmen, good to see something outside of the norm. Others reminded me why I liked so little of the Confrontation line.

To be blunt: Because all of their projects attract a tidal wave of idiocy and pointless arguments in the comments section that make them near useless and frankly offputting. It's not just CMoN projects but due to the size of their support they hit that stage almost immediately. It's quite telling that after their first couple of projects CMoN themselves have near abandoned the comment section, updates for several of their projects recently have explicitly stated to not use the comments section if you need to contact them, and I can't say I blame them.

Anywhoo, enough negativity. Yay pigmen.

Same here. Zombicide shipping fiasco was a nightmare for me.

I guess that behaviour is part of a bigger story, but this is the Internet so I can´t be really surprised :P Thanks for the answer

The minis itself... well, I´ll keep an eye

I'm sorry, but when you've made more than 5 million dollars over the past year, you shouldn't need to use KickStarter anymore.

Can't say that video was very helpful. I don't like the drawing style and since there was no info, other than hype, about gameplay, so far its an easy pass.

And I agree with Nocturne about the unfortunate turn CMON's KS comments sections have taken over the past several projects. They've become a painful thing to try and read through.

I don't agree with Chrome however. Whatever mission statement Kickstarter started out with has obviously been allowed to change by those in control of the site. It is what it is now, and if the companies using it, and their customers, are happy with it then I say more power to them.

I just wish The Powers That Be behind kickstarter would start taking more accountability for the faults and limitations of their site and put more money into improving and maybe even policing it.

To be fair, CMON is somewhat to blame for the negativity they receive thanks to their own poor communications practices. Of course, why people who are so pissed off with them would bother to back new CMON projects is beyond any reasonable person's guess.

Wrath of Kings? That's their line with what is argueably the silliest miniature pose I've seen to date:

900025-the-deathbloom-2.jpg

Everyone knows battles are best fought with your butt above your head, right? (The skin-colored body stocking paintjob didn't really help in terms of how the reaction was on some forums.)

Some of the other limited editions looked quite promising though, so here's hoping the KS will keep blatantly excessively silly cheesecake to a minimum.

This looks like a very interesting board game with lots of new, fresh ideas and cool artwork (and nice minis - there is even a pledge level for just the minis: around 15 of them for $20 plus shipping):

      About this project

It's a harsh but lucrative business being a mercenary out on the edge of civilization. You must explore the harsh wilderness and engage in deep tactical combat, where the decisions you make have an impact not only on your own character, but also the world around you.

Gloomhaven is cooperative game of card-driven combat set in a persistent fantasy campaign which will change and grow as you play the game.
There is always more to unlock and explore in the world of Gloomhaven.

If you missed the first Gloomhaven Kickstarter (and retail sold out quickly) here is your chance. I backed that game the first time around and could not be happier with the results. Warning ... that box is heavy ...

As I backed Brayan's previous KS but never got my files (I got a email in regards to this KS) but a quick email response & I had my file that I backed + a bonus file. Love the look on the minis. The goblins can be new PC gobs for ReaperCon We Be Goblins. Love the Oriental dragon as well.
