Wrath of Kings

Recommended Posts

Still waiting for my 2nd wave sedition wars from CMON, also was not impressed by card stock or the way miniatures fitted together. I like a couple of the sculpts but I'm def not pledging.

+1 what monkeysloth said to.

+1 what darsc said.

Visually a nasty chop-up of the kind of nasty Rule 34 bullsh** that makes being identified as a nerd genuinely embarrassing; with some pretty nice sculpts.

I'm just wondering how long it is until we see 100% "goru" porn wargames hitting the shelves.

TBH, the entire thing looks like a stylistic clusterf*** to me. The Nasier are, apparently, trying to channel a bit of Dark Age, the Teknes seem WoW gnome level cartoony and the vampires and werewolves of all things feel the least over the top. This will be an easy one to skip.

It's definitely a hodge podge of styles, I would find it off putting if I was interested in the game but I'm just in for the minis so it doesn't matter to me so much if they go together.

At least the first few stretch goals are to get different sculpts so there should be only 2 of each troop figure in a box instead of 4, variety is the spice of life etc etc etc.

Just noticed that for 4 out of 5 factions, the faction logo image includes a figure that isn't even in the starter. So CMON is going to stick with miniature add-on stretch goals, apparently. Unless of course they'll all be free bonus figs.

Phew!

Glad they're going the starter set route, makes it a lot easier to pass on when they force you to buy mini's you don't want to get the ones you do.

Because of the structure of this I'm in. The 2 factions I most like the sculpts for are available with the rules for $125 (postage included), which is pretty much perfect for me.

I will not be upping the pledge, with the variant troop options already unlocked and whatever else they throw onto a starter I'll be more than happy.

The reason the wolfen look soo much like the Rackham ones is they have many of the same concept artists and sculptors that Rackham used.

Not sure who off the top of my head, but I know people who would know.

I really really like the Nasier $65 with shipping sounds ok but I have so many minis to paint and won't live long enough + I want to wait for stonehaven might wait till this hits retail and just pick and choose a couple, also seems cmon are pushing kickstarters like crazy

I was interested in the minis when i first saw them on the CMON store a year or two ago... I really like teh designs. I think this is pretty cheap for teh amount fo stuff you are getting... And even if you are only interested in the minis instead of the game.... the minis are around $2/mini at thsi point... and the stretch goals havent even really gotten under steam yet.

This looks like a very interesting board game with lots of new, fresh ideas and cool artwork (and nice minis - there is even a pledge level for just the minis: around 15 of them for $20 plus shipping):

      About this project

It's a harsh but lucrative business being a mercenary out on the edge of civilization. You must explore the harsh wilderness and engage in deep tactical combat, where the decisions you make have an impact not only on your own character, but also the world around you.

Gloomhaven is cooperative game of card-driven combat set in a persistent fantasy campaign which will change and grow as you play the game.
There is always more to unlock and explore in the world of Gloomhaven.

If you missed the first Gloomhaven Kickstarter (and retail sold out quickly) here is your chance. I backed that game the first time around and could not be happier with the results. Warning ... that box is heavy ...

As I backed Brayan's previous KS but never got my files (I got a email in regards to this KS) but a quick email response & I had my file that I backed + a bonus file. Love the look on the minis. The goblins can be new PC gobs for ReaperCon We Be Goblins. Love the Oriental dragon as well.
