So to help me clear things up. Limited box set release at GC (like the Pirates from '12 RCon) & later as singles or as regular licensed line box set??

Great looking figs, I'd hate to miss out on them cause I can't make it to GC.

So the news statement says 10 minis, and the picture shows 8...we get two mystery minis?

I have to agree with Inarah here that the minis aren't 100% my bag, but the Numenera setting is incredible, so maybe once I read some lore the figures will make sense.

Right now, Jazz Hands McCaster and High Collar McFighter are the only pair that stand out. The Scarf Chick looked neat until I saw she had a pickaxe for a hand. A weapon swap would make for a neat mini there.

I have to say the sculpts don't do much for me, but if they'll be at GC maybe I'll get a look at them in person. Anyone want to tell me what is so special about the rpg?

I only know what I've read on the Numenera website as I missed the kickstarter for it. But, it sounds like it's a pretty story driven system with an emphasis on discovery and exploration. It's mentioned somewhere that you don't get exp from killing monsters (gasp), but you do from discovering new things/places and you may have to slay a few monsters to do that. The setting is pretty different, which I like, and allows for just about anything to happen and be made to 'fit' in the world.

Monte Cook posted on his web site that these are metal and the price; "I think about $40, but I’m not yet 100% sure." The timing is good, the kickstarter backers pdf is being released Thursday, and they plan on having books in stores by August 14th.

I'm not a huge fan of Monte Cook's game design. I think he was responsible for a lot of the bigger flaws in 3rd edition. But damn if the guy doesn't know how to make a decent setting. I'll probably use Savage Worlds or Fate to actually run Numenara, but I can't wait to have some Dying Earth fun.
