I had no idea you had done any "modern" inspired work Catdancer.

I'm a big fan of the pulp genre and this is pushing all my buttons. If I could hit the "LIKE" tab multiple times for this I certainly would. ::):

The amount of work and little details you have added into this requires a second look be taken to notice... I'm tempted to say I think this even surpasses the fantasy work you've shown off here. I'd really like to see anything else you've done along these lines.

I take it because of the base that its mounted on, this is not meant to be a gaming piece? That would be too bad, cause I have some of Bob Murch's pulp minis that would fit right on board. :;):

Darsc; I do some modern era (non-fantasy) modeling and miniature work but it has to be mercenary related (for military pieces) and for the others...it has to be nostalgic to me for some reason or another. I did a nostalgic junkyard in (1/72nd scale) and a fishing wharf work shop in (1/35th scale)...I think that you might enjoy viewing at some time.

I don't post these type of materials because I figure that this site is dedicated to fantasy (figures, terrain and related areas) and not really dedicated to (non-fantasy) work. I try very hard to follow the rules of this site because I respect it and the people I have gotten to know and communicate with.

I do thank you for your comments on this piece of work.

You are correct...this is not a gaming piece...it is a memory piece dedicated to times long past for the group of figures that will be on the piece once the figures are finished.

Cat dancer,

First, I'd like to join my voice with the chorus of praise. Your keelboat is fantastic, and will make an awesome centerpiece for display or campaign.

Secondly, I'd like to say that anything you have painted, built, or scratched together would be welcome here. If it doesn't fit into an established category, it can be moved. Sci-fi, horror, modern, historical - there are a lot of genres outside fantasy, and they're all welcome here.

...the PG ones, anyway.

My dear friends and fellow members...I am truly humbled by your words of praise and your comments in regard to the keel boat and my work. I wish to express my most sincere and heartfelt thanks to all of you for your kindness.

If your words and sentiments of my posting (non-fantasy) material are true and correct and I would not be considered intrusive...I would be most happy to post an additional couple of pieces that I had mentioned to Darsc Zacal...I need to photograph them and I will post them on this forum for your viewing and will look forward to your comments.

Most sincerely...Catdancer.

Bah... To be quite honest, on this forum "minis" covers pretty much anything smaller than a breadbox, no matter the subject or the medium... Froggy The Great is legendary (or is that infamous?) for his sci-fi conversions using scavenged electronics parts, and I once built a sci-fi tank out of circuit board and a leftover Hot Pocket crisper sleeve... I'm pretty sure I posted a statue of a bird I carved out of soap at one point.
