Gonna be getting a primer only brush

Recommended Posts

I was thinkin a larger brush, but in some way that would put down to much primer in some areas. Any ideas???

A soft squirrel hair watercolor mop. You can easily work the primer into all the knooks and crannies. If you get any bubbles in the primer coat ( which invariably happens with brush on primers ), just let it dry a tad, and gently dab it with the brush.

Makeup brushes, especially eye-shadow brushes, work just as well, and are cheaper than the 'art' brushes.

A big soft brush makes primer application a snap.

For brush priming I use inexpensive Golden Taklon round brushes. When primer coating the entire fig I use #s 2-4. I keep a dry brush (one that isn't loaded with fluid) handy to wick off any excess paint that I feel may obscure detail.
