Hirst do some doors and stuff, but that means you can buy a bag of plaster doors off legal re-sellers for a couple of bucks.

Example: http://www.griffingrove.com.au/index.php/categories/terrain/hirst-arts/casts-by-the-kilo-ha

I'd considered that option but I lost count around 100 doors... I'm gonna print up about 20 closed doors or so and use tokens for the open ones. Considering I'm probably only gonna get to run this once I think I'll stick to printables.

wow, it is really, really nice (in paint!). you should definitely do the lava map, and more.

better yet, you should get a map from a classic dungeon map ( White Plume Mountain, The Expedition to the Barrier Peaks, The Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth) and give it your magic touch.

ever tried using gimp? while a bit more cumbersome at first the ability to save layers as separate objects would probably speed things up in the long run and give you more fancy tools to play with. there is a cool site called the cartographers guild.

The colored simple map (on the left) I did modded in paint (I was at work, lol). The fully rendered version (on the right) I did in Photoshop.

I'd consider doing a digital makeover on classic maps but I probably won't be doing another printed version. I had no idea what I was getting myself.

Looking great. Good on you for getting through all that cutting, especially. Good to see the old HeroQuest elf in there, too ^_^

Ive played around with the dungeon generator a bit and it seems pretty cool. Cant wait to see the final product, and also the list of credits for the textures so I can see exactly how you put it together.

I've got a word file specifically for keeping a record of credits and sources. I was planning on releasing the full res map and a PDF with everything else, including a credits page.

Map is totally finished including tiles/doors/alternate rooms. Actually it was done a while back. I started a separate WIP thread for the mini painting effort that goes along with this.

I'll lay this sucker out on the table again and do some pics (maybe a video) with the 'mood lighting'.
