What I can see looks pretty good. Unfortunately the pictures are pretty bad. If you can't get a better photo setup, you should at least download GIMP (a free Photoshop-type program) and run each picture through Auto White Balance. I took the liberty of doing this to your paladin photo, and it goes from the image in your first post to looking like this:

Does that look more like your actual mini?

Anyway, the white looks really good, as does the freehand on his spaulders. And don't listen to Braxandur; the flames are lightest at the bottom, which is correct.

EDIT: Oh, and try to take pictures in front of a neutral background, like a mid-grey. Part of your problem is that your camera is being overwhelmed by the white background and is making the whole picture darker to compensate.

Thanks slender troll I will have a look at GIMP and have a play around with some backgrounds, first time out with the new camera.

I'm also loving the white armor, and I definitely think I'll try it when I get to my own paladin figures! Did you use a brown wash for the shadows, or did you do something different? I like the way the shadows and edges are defined, while still leaving the armor very much white. :)

If you're brave enough, you might try thinning down one of the flame colors a lot and putting just a little on the sword around where the flames are, to give the impression of the flames being reflected on the blade.

The others look nice, I especially like the way you did the bathalian's skin, well done!

Huzzah!

Thanks guys for the comments

I sprayed the figure white and gave it a wash of army painter soft tone ink. From that I painted the edges bone with a white final highlight. To be honest the wash was meant to be for guidance only. I will try painting the flame reflection on the sword and then will post a finished picture. My next bones to paint is the bugbear.

Euhm... I'm indeed wrong... Not sure why I thought it was the other way around... So disregard my remark, you did a great job :B):
