Popular Post Flow
Frulla Krung - female frost giant! The axe is my first ever attempt at NMM, inspired by some of the cool stuff Cashwiley and others have done around here. I just used the standard grey triad with a bit of white on one side and a wee bit of black on the other. CashWiley
That's a really nice job! My initial attempts went over the top with the contrast, yours is a bit more tame. I think both look pretty cool. I also like the flesh tones and the doe skin garments, very appropriate. Only a couple critiques: hair might go a bit more white to differentiate from the skin tone and the haft of the axe looks a bit flat. But those are pretty small points, overall it's a wicked frost giant!

I had it way too 'sky blue' at first, then mellowed it to ghost off-white, but couldn't find a strong way to shadow/highlight it. There is some shading there, it's just not very well contrasted. After struggling, I admit I gave up - sometimes you have to move on.
buglips*the*goblin
Frulla's a favourite. I'm hopeful she might eventually be a Bones.
youwashock
She came out quite good. EDIT: After looking at the other pics in the link I have to say her face is also very well done. Very expressive eyes. Edited August 14, 2013 by youwashock
Grimreaper71
Very nice. I would say just blend the dark up a little high but other then that it looks good
SpeakerDad
Well done! Yeah a little more contrast could be helpful but overall really, really nice! I think I have this mini in my collection...time to bust her out and paint! Thanks for the motivation :)
Flow
Thank you for the kind words! I did enjoy painting this mini. I have an affection for giants in general, and female giants are typically under-represented. She's a great one.
ub3r_n3rd
Really great job with this one Flow. It makes me want to start painting up my female cloud giant real soon! Keep up the good work and keep posting these awesome pics!
Teskal
Cool, I like what I see, it is one of the miniatures I got very cheap a short while ago. I need to paint it.
Teskal
Another thought: The weapon and skin looks really cool, but the hair could need little more contrast to the skin.
Pingo
I love that you put a footprint in the snow behind her.
Flow
I love that you put a footprint in the snow behind her. Exactly! I think I've become a footprint convert. More mini's need footprints behind them (where applicable).
