Hi Everyone,

We can see there are a lot of questions about the fulfillment. Yesterday Dirk from our team visited our fulfillment company to review the setup for the coin fulfillment. He was there from 11 in the morning until after 4 in the afternoon. He is continuing on a different business trip so we are reporting the information second-hand. It turns out they held off starting shipping Monday so the review of the systems could happen before anything shipped. This is also the first time that we’ve seen the full back-end backer and order management system that Game Salute was using for the project.

Based on that visit there are a few changes to the process that should minimize packing errors. Part of the review was looking at the boxing and packaging of the coins since other Kickstarter coin projects have suffered from losses in transit. Implementing all of these things in total will take days not weeks. There are some additional issues identified in the order management that will have no impact on the project’s completion and fulfillment but can happen in parallel with fulfillment itself that will be invisible to you but clean up things on the back end.

In general the setup there looks good but - as with every step of this project - the complexity in the 100+ skus will make the fulfillent quite the odyssey. Our fulfillment partner plans to pack ALL of the orders first before shipping any of them, and then shipping them altogether. We hadn’t considered this but it actually is a good idea because we have so many oddball skus, some of which just have a couple of orders to them, it allows them to hunt other orders if we are short on something and make sure the right stuff gets to the right person.

They estimate it will take 2-3 weeks to get the entirety of the packages boxed and labeled, then 1 day to get it all shipped when it is done. The first order, a single, random order to someone in Boulder, Colorado, was picked, packed, and shipped by Dirk so that lucky backer will be seeing their stuff potentially as early as this week.

That is everything we know so far as reported by Dirk while on the road.

Thanks,

Team CQ

According to today's update, shipping is complete.  I compared some of these to actual reproductions of historical coins and they are happily quite similar.  Speaking of which, the place making the historically accurate coins is doing a KS soon

These couldn't pass for historic coins. They are too thick (for medieval ones), too regular (for ancient ones), and too flatly molded overall (old coins had surprisingly rounded sculpting at times). Also the sizes and colors are off.

That said, they look great and are excellent evocations of old coins without being so close they risk triggering counterfeiting laws.

I received mine last week and I'm pretty happy, delays aside. I grabbed 10 sets in all, including a "Time Traveler Special" set, which contained one of every coin. Overall, the details are generally very good. The weight is great, and the uniform system of sizes and colors ensures that everything goes well in one big pile! For my tastes, I wish the coins had been a little thicker though. The design on most look good, but I think the ones with prominent borders tend to look the best.
