Anyone play Munchkin?

Wondering if anyone out there plays Munchkin, has advice to better my game, or has a game they may want to throw together sometime. I travel a lot, so getting together in a new city is always interesting. I like the game because the time involved is significantly shorter than others. I would rather play two or three games in a sitting than one multi-hour endurance test. Its also very entertaining, simple, and unpredicable. Just looking for a place to talk about a common interest. Thanks.

We used to, we stopped because my wife kept winning. It helps to be cute and look like you don't know what you're doing.

I eventually had to give up on my own dreams of winning and just help other people to win so that she would stop winning :p.

Thanks guys. We appreciate the silliness too. We like the different versions just to keep things interesting. We mix them into different themes like everyone seems to. Try mixing Apocalypse, Zombie, and Cthulhu into a massive post-apocalyptic theme that mocks some great movies. Anyone have a favorite mix?

I play with my three girls (ages 14, 11 and 9). Only problem is that sometime they are sore losers and blame each other that Daddy wins so often.

My wife actually bought the game;she and a friend saw it and grabbed it because of the orc be gone commentary on the box.

I just have the original game but have toyed with picking up other editions. Anyone have any must have editions/expansions?

My kids do the same thing. Sometimes they say my win doesn't count and continue to play even though I'm sitting at ten, or we start over going to twenty. In that case we +10 to all monsters base level then tack on any modifiers as normal.

I have the original Munchkin, the Need for Steed expansion, Apocalypse, Bites, Zombies, and Cthulhu. Its fun but like I said gets pretty involved. Adding the Zombie is interesting because we play it so that if you draw a zombie as a race you are perminatly a zombie and can not change back. It can make you lose a lot, depending on what items you're packing. Its pretty fun to watch the kids kick open a door that is clearly marked zombie b/c they don't want to turn zombie and know thats a chance. They even go so far as to refuse to loot the room whan a zombie card is on top of the door deck just in case they can make the next player turn.

Munchkin is a lot of fun. Though my experience isn't one of a short game. I have had a lot of 3+ hour games (those were with six or more people and some slow or new players though).

Somehow all the players I drag into a game of munchkin want to play again even if they lose horribly. I think this is the most important aspect of a game, that everyone enjoys it.

Muchkin Quest is also a lot of fun. The ability to mess with each other is a little less than in the cardgame, because for a lot of things you have to be in an adjacent room. This is offset by the roaming packs of monsters. Nothing more terrifying than a doomstack with your color approaching... ::o:
