buglips*the*goblin
Last time I didn't even like plastic minis. Now with my unfettered Boneslust my excitement is already up 30000%. I may obliterate into a singularity.
Moderator Chaoswolf Posted September 27, 2013 Moderator Share Posted September 27, 2013 (edited) But...but...but it CAN'T start yet!! I haven't finished painting the ones I have now!! ...mustpaintfastermustpaintfastermustpaintfastermustpaintfaster.... To be fair, if Reaper waited for all of us to finish KS 1 the next KS would be sometime in 2147. Fair point. And it's good knowing when it starts, now I have the weekend to explain why I need more miniatures to paint.... Family heirlooms, a living legacy passed down from hand to hand like a generational quilt until one day your descendants will finish painting them. Besides, it's still only 20.
Suden
So October 1st at 9am CET? And the company firewall blocks Amazon? I hope there will be no EB's or I'll have to take half a day off. Edit: weird... the countdown timer doesn't show the single second digits for me; only the 10's. I really hope they don't bother with any early bird specials. They managed to do the last kickstarter without any, and I heard it did alright.

I'm really not trying to derail, but I do want to say Amen to that. I'm not a big fan of early bird specials, and I'm in the same country and nearly the same time zone as Reaper. I feel so bad for people who are ASLEEP when early bird specials go live, as they don't even get the chance to jump in on them. I showed Husband the countdown timer, and he seemed fairly underwhelmed. Yep, I'm definitely the mini hoarder in our family. Talae
Now the question is: What will I have my middle school students do while I spend the day on Kickstarter? Follow up: What will I have my middle school students do while I spend the day on Kickstarter? This post is a joke. I actually try to be engaged with my students and keep them learning. That will not prevent me from checking in during absolutely every break. Use it as a teaching tool to illustrate the nature of crowdfunding as a new market variable economic engine, and a powerful message on the hold of addiction. If maths (or some sciences), they can calculate growth rates. At 9:15 the total was $124,876. At 9:30 the total was $486,391. ... I teach science. My curriculum is Astronomy/Earth Science/Biology. I am currently teaching space topics (today we finished up Eclipses). Maybe I can work it into Eclipses, since this Kickstarter will eclipse the last one in many ways...
Zankorel
why is it a big deal to be free when it starts? Doesn't it last for like a month?
Bonwirn
I heard a rumor that the first X pledgers get some "special" gift.... Of course, it may just be the voices in my head...
ced1106
Nooo! I'm not ready! Make them stop! Please... someone... Make them stop... Pull out of that Fairytales Games KS. You know you want to. :D Anyway, Discover card has, for October through December, an extra cashback offer good on -- that's right -- online purchases. Remember to sign up for the DickBlick newsletter, so you know when they have their free shipping holiday special. Let me know of anywhere else to get W&N brushes at a discount and low shipping. If you're a new painter, the updated Bones Learn to Paint Kits aren't in the online store yet. Wait until the Reaper "12 Days of Christmas" promotion in November to buy them. Last year, FRPGames had an "end of year" sale for a further 50% off their clearance items, including a few Sophies. No idea if they'll do it again. ...and Amazon has its November "Daily Deals" specials as well. Last year, they had Mansions of Madness, Dungeon Command: Sting of Lolth, and some other hobby games on sale!
kaosweaver
why is it a big deal to be free when it starts? Doesn't it last for like a month? It is an event, a month long event, I missed the start of the last one, but the time I came in and the conversations in the comments was awesome. Part of the fun is the community and the conversations. Why not be there from the start if you can.
Bender
There would be no point in early bird specials. The only reason to do such is to make sure you get funded. For me, starting in the morning is perfect, so it is afternoon for me. I do have an opening reception, but I might sneak out for a short break :-) (if Kickstarter isn't down at that point) countdown doesn't work properly for me though, points to 9 am in UTC+1 Edited September 28, 2013 by Bender
alchemist
Has anyone warned Kickstarter of what's about to happen? When Tuesday comes around they will probably think they are under some kind of DDoS attack.
kimbers
I have a sneaking suspicion this is going to end during the 4 days I'm away... during my 30th birthday party... Will have to apologise to my friends in advance (and ask for their WiFi password). Hope my parents are giving me lots of money for my birthday!
