Bones Kickstarter #2 Pre-discussion

Ok, I'm all ready for the KS launch tomorrow. I just booked an appointment from 9am to 11am with a Mr. Bones in my schedule :)

Considering that I just needed to read 3 pages of comments to catch up here after reading them 3 hours ago, I don't think I have a chance keeping up with the comments on the KS site.

Anyone interested (and who has the time) in putting up a morning recap each day letting us know what has happened? Please?

Is Bones the only minis project hat hasn't got a Twilight Knight yet? Twilight Sophie, anyone?

For the love of god, I certainly hope not! I like Sophie's hips just the way they are.

Yeah, I'd prefer they keep Sophie away from the recent "curvy" trend that seems to be going around. The fat succubus (non-Sophie) mini was unique (and amusing), but I don't think Reaper needs to start caricaturizing their mascot... ::P:

I get the feeling that today is going to be the longest... day... ever...! Do you think we'll get any more hints before KS 2 starts?

I don't know but cast the Reaper Bryan summoning spell and find out. I'm to afraid too as I hear it could cause you to spend three times as much on the next kick starter and I am not that rich

The fat succubus

Bella prefers the term "zaftig", TYVM.

We broke kickstarter when the project was ending, because everyone was refreshing to see if the last stretch goal would be broken.

That 45 minutes when nobody could get to kickstarter or to here, and so nobody knew if we had C'thulhu because it all went down right at the wire... I about chewed my fingers off.

Thankfully we did get him, and he says "Gfoorbabloobaloobawonkwonkwonk... *incoherent jabbering*"

I know what you mean. I'm already committed to the ZIM 3D Printer KS that's running right now.

I was thinking of dropping out so as to have more money for Bones II but I can't… it's too nice a 3D printer to let it slip by.

Yeah, I was looking at that earlier today actually. Damn nice printer and I was VERY tempted to get it... but I just don't have the money unless I give up on something else, and at the moment my option is limited to... 3D printer... or bones 2 with all addons and a ps4 with controler, camera and game.

What did you back at? I don't think I could back it for any less than the $799 backer level.

So sat down and had a discussion with my wife about a budget for this Kickstarter. I also comprised on the new 13th age rule book, going for the handbound PDF printout rather than the 55$ hardcopy.

This hobby can put a hole in my budget, but brings me immense joy.

She was amazingly happy to be consulted rather than finding out after the fact.

I'm in at $799. I initially went for the $599 level with plans to upgrade to the dual head model later with the kit. I decided that $200 was worth it to get the printer without the hassle of doing the upgrade kit later so I raised my pledge. I plan to use it for building terrain pieces for my gaming. ::):

Yeah I really would have to go in at that level too, no reason to go in half measures.

I would use it for that and also for the base of my sculpts. I am currently focusing on divising a profitable way to create and sell a 3D terrain option to people and a 3D printer would allow me to do oh so many things in oh so many efficient ways.

But my funds can only go so far.

Sounds like you did better in the wife consultation than I did. My wife reply was "How many minis did you just get in August?" I pointed out that I won't see these new one until the end of 2014. She gave in a little but I stay can't order everything this time.

Why do I work again if not to support my habbit, I mean hobby? :)

I plan on buying a 3D printer eventually so that I can print my own mini sculpts. I'll have to wait til next summer before I can seriously look into purchasing one, but this ZIM looks perfect for my needs.
