RouterMike
Is Bones the only minis project hat hasn't got a Twilight Knight yet? Twilight Sophie, anyone? Yes, please. If the Kingdom Death team and Reaper can make this work, I'd love a KD/Sophie crossover.
Lord Dragon
So sat down and had a discussion with my wife about a budget for this Kickstarter. I also comprised on the new 13th age rule book, going for the handbound PDF printout rather than the 55$ hardcopy. This hobby can put a hole in my budget, but brings me immense joy. She was amazingly happy to be consulted rather than finding out after the fact. Sounds like you did better in the wife consultation than I did. My wife reply was "How many minis did you just get in August?" I pointed out that I won't see these new one until the end of 2014. She gave in a little but I stay can't order everything this time. Why do I work again if not to support my habbit, I mean hobby? :) My wife told if you want it you have to sell something and use that money to buy it. So that is what I did I cleared out a majority of my extra stuff (I even committed the cardinal sin by thinning out my star wars miniatures collection) I ended up making over six hundred dollars so I got a vampire box from the first kickstarter on ebay, wave 3 of star wars x-wing miniatures. I was going to buy into Wrath of kings but hated the nude minis then when I heard this was right around the corner why go with CMON when I could have Reaper. It would have been like taking the ugly girl to prom when you got asked out by the prom queen. so here I am biting my nails waiting for tomorrow to get here.
Members SamuraiJack
I'm guessing being there right when it launches won't matter.. with no EB options I don't suspect a difference between pledging right away or pledging later.. other than quelling self impatience.. ;)

If my wife told me that... her closet of scrap booking supplies and other assorted items would be gone as fast as I could get it out the door....
KevinR
I would like a Twilight Sophie! :) As far as f5'ing goes, it melted KS's servers so hard they implemented the new chat software. On the one hand, it's nice that you don't need to f5 (just click 'show new messages or whatever). On the other hand, who thought it was a good idea to remove the pages, there's no way I'm going to be able to skim the previous night's comments like last time. The stupid "no pages" version requires javascript. Turn javascript off and you get the pages back.

Then I'll carefully read over all my options, ask my questions and select what is best for me.

Lord Dragon
Speaking to cross overs. from what I can gather the purpose is to gain interest in one product by trading off the success of another. I don't see reaper having to resort to this in order to fund its projects. The guys and gals over at reaper have made it clear that the purpose of the first kick starter was the raise the needed funds to purchase the molds needed to make the bones line successful. and I see the same being true for this next one as well. the want to see the bones line succeed for years to come and I doubt it makes since to spend thousands of dollars on a mold to them that is only available through kickstater. this was one of the reasons why I prefer the reaper business model to CMON. Darn marital limitations. My wife told if you want it you have to sell something and use that money to buy it. If my wife told me that... her closet of scrap booking supplies and other assorted items would be gone as fast as I could get it out the door.... A life long collection of comics/star wars memorabilia would be at stake in my case. He's not dumb. I'm evil, I'd do it too. God I'm spoiled. I think I have a problem. I really do wonder how many people didn't back the Wrath of Kings game because of the nude minis. Had they had realistically clothed them, I would have bought a couple sets. That game really looked like something my girlfriend and I would have LOVED to play together. :/
estrus
That's the beauty of painting miniatures; a figure is only nude if you paint it so. Take some greenstuff and the options are limitless!
Lord Dragon
I really do wonder how many people didn't back the Wrath of Kings game because of the nude minis. Had they had realistically clothed them, I would have bought a couple sets. That game really looked like something my girlfriend and I would have LOVED to play together. :/ I heard alot of complaints about it on the boards. it wasnt even that they where sexy nudes they were ugly demonic nudes which just made it worse. the game was why I wanted to buy into it but I couldn't justify having to paint and cover up 50+ nude models in order for me to be confortable with fielding them. That's the beauty of painting miniatures; a figure is only nude if you paint it so. Take some greenstuff and the options are limitless! that was my plan but I am not the best sculptor by a long shot and I could not find any press molds or armor templates to help. the closest I found were robe templates over at hobby hot tips. while they had some really cool sculpts some of them were plain ugly. and regular fantasy minis are more my cup of tea, but wrath of kings is over and done with now so bring it on reaper!
