My understanding of Kickstarters is that the company has no say in when the KS is approved and made live for pledging. Are we expecting only an announcement of the details of the KS tomorrow morning? Unless campaign management has changed, I don't see how Reaper can forecast the KS to go live at a precise time tomorrow morning.

Any official, semi-official, or completely fictional speculation on what the story will be with international orders and international shipping?

in an effort to alleviate the delays of international shipping, Reaper has booked space with Space-X for distribution from the international space station. the advances in global positioning satellites and orbital insertion technology means your house can now be targeted from space. with this new plan, it is expected that all international deliveries should arrive simultaneously. (you may want to consider the optional insurance)

Well, there is an insurance company advertising its coverage of space debris damage, but if you ask for orbital bombardment, that might be considered "friendly" damage. Be very specific when you talk to your insurance agent.

But wouldn't the build up of heat from the kinetic energy be a convenience as it would save us a step in preparation?

Upon delivery we could immediately put them in cold water to restore the minis shape. :;):

@Ladystorm, @Darsc, I like the way you think.

I'll be settling up a paddling pool of cold water in the yard and providing it's gps coordinates as my delivery address.

So many levels of efficiency and geek-cool tied up in one super-heated bundle!

Well, GPS is accurate to within about 3m with military grade equipment (less so with civilian stuff), so you might need a rather big pool. And that assumes that you're using the $10K terminal guidance package. If you're trusting to a ballistic delivery, the best you could reasonably hope for is a CEP of about 100m. I think you're going to need a bigger pool. ^_^

Bah, unbeliever! Get thee to a Nunnery! But make sure it's not the Nunry, that's Buglips putting up a sign to try to get girl-gobs to visit - you really don't want to go in there, though if you survived the experience you would definitely be converted into a true believer.

I believe in Reaper! When I see my house on google maps (rolling under 13 to resist the Life of Brian quote here) and mark the screen (using red crayon) with an X where I'm putting the pool, then take a screenshot and send it to Reaper, I believe that's exactly where it will land. Inconsequential details like the hole in my neighbours roof, me running out of their house juggling a glowing red box screaming hothothot till I get to the paddling pool are irrelevant.

Your so called facts and science shall not stop me!

Once a project has been approved it doesn't have to go live straight away, the project owner can sit on it for a while and choose a launch time. It's very likely Bones 2 has already been approved and the launch time was selected after, would probably explain why it was "sooner than you think" as well.

Thanks for the clarification. I was unaware of this and given I've seen several hosts of kickstarters say 'we had no control of when it ends' (mostly referring to a campaign that ends in the early morning hours) I assumed the host had no ability to modify this.

I don't feel offended or singled out. I feel brave for sticking up for my perspective. I think this is an important conversation to have, so long as people are being respectful and thoughtful.

1) I don't count having topless Male Animal/Human hybrid figures. That's the standard depiction of those characters.

2) I think that the explanation re: Pelagarth's is a convenient explanation designed to excuse a sculpt of a lady fighting in a thong and knee-high boots. I'd actually respect it more if they'd come out and just said, "yeah, a demon chick in a thong and knee-high boots is awesome and we wanted to sculpt it."

3) It's a misstep, though convenient, to cite nudity. When really what I'm talking about is the portrayal of woman in our fantasy worlds and society. To me, if you're going to do it, it has to be equal or make some kind of sense. People don't fight naked. Further, it's not a game I'd be able to play with my nephew. God forbid I ever had a daughter with these around.

I think you're absolutely correct to cite the aesthetics of the design. In this case, for me, the portrayal of woman in the game seemed un-fun and not something I wanted to support. I think it's interesting that there was actually a debate around it -- I didn't look farther than their aesthetic representation of women before making my decision to not support it. I'm honestly happy, and encouraged, by the fact that there was at least a debate on it in the Kickstarter comments. My original comment was really just expressing amazement that I wasn't the only one to feel that way about it. :)

My comments on aesthetics by House, if you're interested:

Shael Han: Big Sister, almost totally nude. The male counterpart is wearing awesome armor.

Nasier: The Pelegarth's, big and little. That's just... Yeah. I'm sure everything worth saying has been said.

Skorza: See above, but I don't think having topless werewolves count. That's the standard depiction. The blood dancer cleavage figure is just weird.

Good for you...I am with you I am about to have a son but If i was having a daughter I would want her to see those minis and think that is what I think women should be like. I work with a bunch of teenage girls and it breaks my heart knowing that they feel they have to live up to some false idea of what beauty is. by that I mean some photoshoped model. not to get on a soapbox about modesty but to me my wife is really beautiful and she doesnt have to "show everyone what her momma gave her if you will"

random and off topic I know so lets get back to bones kickstarter just t-minus 16 hours and counting

Dream smasher!!!! But seriously, I wondered this too. It'd be hilarious if this was a countdown to a spoiler then there's another countdown to the actual starter date.

You can put that down to overeagerness and a "project's approved, launch NOW!" mentality. Honestly nowadays, with how long Kickstarter has been popular amongst the tabltop gaming section, I would take a Project Manager that says they don't know when their project would end as not having done their research at best. At worst as someone who is poor at planning. Neither of which would fill me with confidence.
