Buglips already has a sculptor and that's all the information you're getting.

If you're serious than I am already sold on this next KS regardless of what's offered.

They should melt down whats left of the P-65 minis and offer a lead-version upgrade for like $15.

Whoa, good thing I checked back before that snowballed. I didn't think my wording through. There is NOT, so far as I am aware, any Buglips thing involved with this Kickstarter at all - and I didn't mean to imply that.

I don't know how exactly I became a popular choice for mascot, and if Reaper did want to do anything Buglipsian then they can knock themselves out. Thus far I've just been amused reading it.

But when other sculptors get mentioned, then I gots to step in and say the only man Buglips trusts to sculpt Buglips is the #1 Puttyweight Champion Of The Worllllllllld:

Mean Gene Van Horne.

And a Buglips of some kind will at some point appear in some form. That is in no way meant to suggest that sort of thing is in, or has any place in, Reaper's kickstarters. I should have opted for clarity over mystery there. Hopefully this prevents misunderstanding. I don't want to find a bunch of message from Bryan or somebody crying: "Buglips! What have you done?!"

I get too many of those. In fact, maybe best if you all stopped listening to me. ::P:

Sorry bout that. I do find it amusing that Bryan has yet to chime in on the idea though.

On a related note: how about a "Girot, Battle Nerd" promotional mini? :bday:

If I remember correctly (and I do because I just checked) there was a DYOM level available in the last kickstarter for a pledge of $2000.

Girot, Battle Nerd may be possible if they offer that option again.

If I were to spend $2000 immortalizing my nerdiness I'm pretty sure my wife will have me crucified. Not that I'm not considering it.

Kill two birds with one stone. Spend $2K to have your nerdiness immortalized in a miniature of you being crucified.

Or get massive brownie points and pay $2k to get her immortalized.....

I speak without knowing the lady, but if you pay $2k to have her crucified, she'll probably be even grumpier.

Ratio wise I'd go for maybe 1:4 or 1:5, because there's still a few important PC style niches to fill - a few more vikings, more barbarians, more variation in nonhumans, and then some monk/ninja/samurai.

If there are more barbarians, I'm in so hard. Especially if they're Manor sculpts. And if you make at least one of the barbarians a suitable sculpt for buying in multiples (like the DHL army pack ones) I will buy approximately all of them.

Although they can be used as a Character miniature, normally Towns folks, dark elves, evil looking, over-sized weapon carriers, odd lineage (dragon, orcish, tiefling, angel, catfolk), miniatures are classified as NPCs.

I have almost no problem with exceptions characters to the race role in my games, but probably the mini will have much more use as a NPC than as a PC.

so.. 43 character, 30 NPCs, 128 Monsters (5 animals) and 2 spell effects.

(not counting Chronoscope, NOVA, IMEF, Dungeon Dressing and Sophie)

But then, this is my opinion.

That's ok - YOUR opinion (among other opinions) is precisely what I was asking for! This is not a corner of the web where we do not ask for opinions! Thanks for the breakdown!

Which begs the question, dear Forumites, if you counted every DHBones model into one of either "character" or "NPC/Monster" category, what would YOUR classifications/ratios be? How close is my count to yours (collectively)?

I count them this way:

30 bones - 17 PCs, 13 monsters

Dungeon attack, undead horde, fire it up, haunts, goblins, vermin, Swamp Things, Dungeon dressing, owlbear, griffon, storm giants, golems and familiars all count monster - 105

Fighters, Elves, Dwarves, Klocke, townsfolk I and II, Heros, Chronoscope, dark elves, Zombie hunters, Iconics, Iconics II, Pirates, Dark heros, half sized heros, Necromancers all count PCs - 77

Grave Danger - 3PC, 1 Monster

Mummy - 2 PC, 2 Monster

Bedeviled - 3 PC, 1 Monster

BBEG - 1 PC, 3 Monsters

IMEF and Nova don't count (as they aren't monsters, but I'm using them as an army since I traded for a ton of them, they *could* be under either)

So, PCs 17+77+3+2+3+1 =103

Monsters, 14+105+1+2+1+3= 126

So, it is 5:6 PC to Monster (or if we put the NOVA and IMEF to the PCs, about 50/50)

I was excluding Chronoscope and Pathfinder because 22/23 and 14/16 of those lines are obvious PC choices, and thus the counting there was easy. If I remove the 36 Chrono/PF from your 103 count, In just DH Bones we see then 67 PCs, and remove the 3 monsters and Monsters changes to 123, which is closer to the 33/66 that I was counting than the 50/50.

We do not talk about Buglips. We do NOT talk about Buglips. WE do not talk about Buglips. etc.

I want more dungeon dressing. I want BIG pieces of dungeon dressing.

And separate scenic bases. Kaly's base is amazing. Want more of that but on its own.

I have to chime in and agree with this, and with MonkeySloth's support for this idea.

The first one was excitng.

It really was. I was one of the first couple hundred backers in the first one and I couldn't believe how that thing grew steadily and then just took off. I'd really like for the second KS to be prepared for the mad dash we saw at the end of the 1st KS. It was a server issue on KS's end of course, but was very frustrating to me in the final 30 minutes.

Urban Legend Buglips. An idea whose time has come.

So long as a scratch and sniff component is worked into his stanky shoes, I'm all over this miniature!

I have my fingers crossed hoping a paint case will be included as an add-on. I love the little "gun cases" the HD sets came in, but could definitely use a larger case to transport MSP when I go to a painting session or travel. Perhaps, something more along the size of the cases Vallejo paint sets come in (64 bottles) or even slightly larger.

Ok Bryan, I did the math:

Based on the number of unique bones figures (not sku numbers) - there are 252 figures by my count.

If you take out chronoscope (23) this leaves you with 230.

Take out what I consider "others". These include things PCs won't (or shouldn't engage in combat). I consider the wall of fire, burning sphere, townsfolk, scenery, familiars, and Mr Bones in this lot. In my mind there are 18 of these, leaving us with 212 figures.

I chose to include the pathfinder figures in my totals (because, they are fantasy figures, who cares if they are licenced!)

This gives me 125 monsters (including all the variations of kobolds and goblins). Left over are 81 hero types.

For my reckoning, I included the dark elves as monsters.

All humans (even the necromancers and dark knight types) are PC types in my book, because even if they end up as villains, most of them are impressive enough to be BBG or one off villains (so I don't need more than one). Also of note, I added the dragonblood, the hellborn, and the battle golem as PC types.

Of course, even in my mind these aren't hard and fast rules. It does give me 64% monsters to 36% PC types, or close to the 2:1 ratio you were talking about. In reality it is more of a 3:2 ratio. Ideally for me this would be closer to a 4:1 or even 5:1 ratio.
