lordnlkon
Oh. Oh, that's soon. Too soon, too soon! SOON I never thought I'd say this, but I hope they lied to you. Never know. It could be delayed. It wasn't anything concrete with a specific date. I had just asked if they had planned to do another kickstarter, as I had unfortunately missed the last one and they said they were planning another one sometime in September. They said it was likely to be a mix of new mini's and some of the previous mini's from the last kickstarter. I'm not suggesting that's not what you were told. But especially the part about including minis that were in the first Bones KS goes counter to what I was told, which to me puts the starting date you were told in doubt as well. buglips*the*goblin
Well, just to be on the safe side I've teamed up with an old witch to lure children into the forest with promises of gingerbread dwellings so I can sell them for Kickstarter money. Sometimes being an evil fairytale creature has perks. Edited September 7, 2013 by buglips*the*goblin
kaosweaver
I do hope they do NOT include any of the minis from the vampire set in KS2, I would prefer no repeats on the addons (as I won't buy them and wont care if the goal is reached). I am prepared right at this moment to drop a grand on this, whether it's now or two months from now. I'm prepping for a lot too, if no repeats :), probably a few grand! Carnacki the Ghost Finder
I wonder how they are going to stop this from getting too big. They have divulged that there was a point in the last project where they would have started losing money on the vampire boxes if too many people were going in. Presumably they will plan from the start to avoid that possibility since this is likely to attract a huge amount of attention from the start. Less stretch-goal freebies and more stretch-goal paid add-ons might be one way. A more expensive initial buy-in might be another way. This would appeal to me anyway as those larger paid add-ons are the ones I really like. Presumably, however, the purpose of the Kickstarter will be the same as the previous one: to fund the creation of those expensive metal molds, so they will want to make as many of those as possible. Thus it makes no sense to include anything from the previous Kickstarter. ... Unless it was to recast the members of the Notorious No-Nose Gang: Drago, Ellen, and the Sticky-Fingered Pickpocket Kids. JackMann
Maybe by ones from the last Kickstarter, they meant minis that were planned for the first that were never reached. Carnacki, they've said the deals on this one won't be quite as amazing as the last one, which should go a long ways to keeping it profitable throughout.
Last Knight
It's also possible that they meant hordes of already available monsters, ala Dungeon Attack - already at retail - during KS 1. Orcapocalypse Again, maybe?
briggart
There were also the 2 new elves that were replaced with existing sculpts due to time constraints.
Moderator Darsc Zacal Posted September 7, 2013 Moderator Share Posted September 7, 2013 Since the Bones from the kickstarter are now being sent to retailers, Reaper cannot undercut those prices by offering Bones One products at discounted prices through the second kickstarter. In speaking with Reaper Bryan recently, my understanding is that there would be no repeated minis being offered between the two kickstarters. So it's best to squash the rumour pretty quickly. Other things that ReaperBryan did tell me was that it was still early in the planning stages for laying out what will be included on offer in the Bones 2 KS. While the overall layout would follow similar groundwork that was laid out for the first one, there would be some differences. While we didn't discuss a timeline for the start of the new KS, a September start seems a bit ambitious to me and something I find doubtful considering the planning and work that still has to be done followed by Kickstarters own approval process. Having said that I do know that there are some at ReaperLand that want to strike while the iron is hot, as it were. I know that some Warlord mini's have already been chosen to be included in the upcoming KS, but I don't know which ones those might be. I know that the next kickstarter will be more fantasy centric, as in general, with a few exceptions, the chronoscopes minis from the first KS weren't as welcomed by backers as Reaper had expected. That is not to say that there won't be any making an appearance though. Expect to see more levels featuring sets focusing on the works of individual sculptors. If possible Reaper would like to have those made up of all new sculpts created specifically for Bones, but again still too early in the planning stage to confirm that will happen. CAV is currently not planned for inclusion in this KS, as it is felt it is better suited to having its own, smaller KS. That's all that comes to mind at the moment. As always, much can change, but this is the info I was made privy to during my time helping out at the Reaperbooth at PAX.
Doramos
I love the chronoscope ones but personally I don't have many games that use them. If they put out some more cyberpunk types though I would buy tons of them.
lordnlkon
I have to head back up to the store in Denton next week to pick up a few more mini's. I will see if I can get any clarification on what I was told. Was pretty cool when I was up there, a friend that was with me, wanted a specific mini that they didn't have any more made so they went in the back and injected a new one. They brought it out and it was still warm.
