buglips*the*goblin
Since the Bones from the kickstarter are now being sent to retailers, Reaper cannot undercut those prices by offering Bones One products at discounted prices through the second kickstarter. In speaking with Reaper Bryan recently, my understanding is that there would be no repeated minis being offered between the two kickstarters. So it's best to squash the rumour pretty quickly. Other things that ReaperBryan did tell me was that it was still early in the planning stages for laying out what will be included on offer in the Bones 2 KS. While the overall layout would follow similar groundwork that was laid out for the first one, there would be some differences. While we didn't discuss a timeline for the start of the new KS, a September start seems a bit ambitious to me and something I find doubtful considering the planning and work that still has to be done followed by Kickstarters own approval process. Having said that I do know that there are some at ReaperLand that want to strike while the iron is hot, as it were. I know that some Warlord mini's have already been chosen to be included in the upcoming KS, but I don't know which ones those might be. I know that the next kickstarter will be more fantasy centric, as in general, with a few exceptions, the chronoscopes minis from the first KS weren't as welcomed by backers as Reaper had expected. That is not to say that there won't be any making an appearance though. Expect to see more levels featuring sets focusing on the works of individual sculptors. If possible Reaper would like to have those made up of all new sculpts created specifically for Bones, but again still too early in the planning stage to confirm that will happen. CAV is currently not planned for inclusion in this KS, as it is felt it is better suited to having its own, smaller KS. That's all that comes to mind at the moment. As always, much can change, but this is the info I was made privy to during my time helping out at the Reaperbooth at PAX. This pretty well matches my expectations. While fantasy is more useful to me, it's a shame about the Chronos - it was nice to have something different in the mix and I know a few people really liked having them. Nocturne
Some sci-fi would be nice but the Chronoscape backlash was a bit OTT so I can understand why they might want to focus on just fatnasy this time. I think it's the difference between people who were backing it because it was Reaper and the people who were backing it for a load of fantasy figures (not that there isn't any crossover but initially each person backed because of one of those reasons)
Moderator OneBoot Posted September 7, 2013 Moderator Share Posted September 7, 2013 For me, they've been awesome as painting practice minis! Pretty near all of the minis we got will be used for gaming at some point or another, which means that I'm more nervous about messing up on one of those. With the sci-fi troopers though, no stress, no worries! Huzzah! --OneBoot :D
Adrift
You know, it has been mentioned previously that this second KS could heavily feature Warlord; has anyone considered the possibility that they may do pledge levels based around 'starter boxes' of various Warlord factions? Stretch goals could include special units assigned to the various factions. Obviously, if all the factions don't end up with a proper balance of offerings it could cause some 'excited dialogue'. Nocturne
I think to do Warlord justice with it's own starter boxes and faction add ons it would need it's own seperate kickstarter rather than being rolled into a generic fantasy figure kickstater like the previous Bones one, and from the sound of it Bones 2 will be similar to that as a couple of the stretch goals that didn't materialise are going in. I think we'll see some Warlord minis like last time but I'm not expecting anything officially organised for them other than the possibiity of some rules PDF's maybe appearing during one of the stretch lulls. And for being free minis, I think totally uncalled for. What? Something different for free? RAAAGE. Made me want to go hunting in the wild with a tranquilizer gun. "Hate! Rage! Anger!" *THWIP* "Peace! Love! Sleep now!" There's more than one way to sow contentedness. *loads dart*

Baugi
Warlord starter boxes would be great, but might be a little tricky, given that quite a few of the minis released in KS1 WERE from Warlord. Not a lot, but enough that building kits without repeats might be a little challenging. Edit: Upon further review, it appears that most lines have no more than 3 or 4 minis already represented in Bones. What I would consider "core" minis, for the most part, but not a lot. Move along. Pay no attention to the raving dwarf. Edited September 7, 2013 by Baugi
Dan Goodchild
For what it's worth I spoke to several authoritative sources at Gen Con and the time frame told to me was "late September or early October". I was also told that they want to try some sculpts that aren't practical (or even possible) to do in metal; stuff like big, curly bat/dragon/demon wings. Personally, I'm as ready as I'll ever be so whether it starts sooner or later I'm in from day one. :-)
araziel
I just hope they keep the one super-pledge that Vampire was for KS #1 (and hopefully not too different price-wise). It's one of the things I really liked, there wasn't any doubt as to what pledge level to go for. And we all got it, there were no unnecessarily limited levels or EBs. Doug Sundseth
As to Chronoscope, I'd put them in only as add-ons. There would still be nerd-rage, because internet, but probably much more limited.
Dan Goodchild
I, for one like the Chronoscope Bones. I'd like to see more of them in KS2:BBB. My gaming group is fairly well rounded and we like games (and minis) of all flavours, not just fantasy. Also, for reasons I won't even discuss with my friends (much less on the Internet) I'm grateful that they were included in the last KS as I find them unexpectedly useful.
Moderator Darsc Zacal Posted September 7, 2013 Moderator Share Posted September 7, 2013 I liked the Chronoscope minis myself and had already collected some while they were still metal. Personally, I'd rather the next KS came later rather than sooner.
Nocturne
I'd be happy if it ended round abouts the end of November or December personally for those paydays. Sounds like it could be closer to the end of October which is an awkward month for me, may have to go in for a base pledge only and hope to do all the addons later
Moderator OneBoot Posted September 7, 2013 Moderator Share Posted September 7, 2013 Wow, that's a month or two sooner than I was expecting!! Still haven't fully recovered from the last one, and it's been over a year! Whenever it happens, though, we'll be along for the ride along with everyone else. KS 1 was the closest I've felt to being on a roller coaster next to actually being on one. :D Huzzah! --OneBoot :D
